President and Mrs. Bush, former Presidents Bush and Clinton visited the embassies of the nations hardest hit by the Asian quake and tsunami: Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India and Thailand. He asked both (interestingly, Carter didn't make the list) to lead a nationwide charitable fund-raising effort for victims of the Asian tsunamis, through private contributions, non-governmental and international organizations. The White House's Freedom Corps, which helps facilitate volunteer efforts around the country, will assist the two former presidents in soliciting private contributions.
The president hosted a reception for new members elected to Congress and their spouses in the East Room; the swearing-in is tomorrow.
Alert: today's thread is laced with photos of The Impeached One. Other than that, enjoy your visit to Sanity Island!
BMG is a great club--much, MUCH better than Columbia House. With BMG you get 7 CDs free (except shipping & handling, around $15) and then you only need to buy ONE CD at club price in the next year (about $21 including s&h), then you can get 4 more CDs free.
Whatever you do stay away from Columbia House!
The pro football will be on in about half an hour, so I will be then!
Yes, I got one. Addressed to me and mentioning my state as well.
How'd you like to be his secretary and have to decypher his handwriting to convert it to type written words?????
Maybe thats why he ate the fries today then LOL
I got one, too.
I didn't care if it was computer-generated, it's on the fridge just the same!
Have fun
That was his readable handwriting???? LOL!!!! I would hat to see his unreadable handwriting. It took both me and my mother to figure out what he wrote on that paper!!!
He looks worse than that. It could be that he just lost the weight too fast, but he looks like he lost it because of illness.
His color and the loss of skin tone are dramatic. I hope he stays healthy, because I have always wanted him to live long enough to see what historians say about him. That really only takes about 20 years.
I sure will!
Almost time to make popcorn...
He didn't look any different to me.
Oh, phooey!
We just checked the schedule and there is no pro-football tonight. It's college...
I guess we'll watch a movie then!
Yes, Bubba!!! He stuck on himself so he thrives on his own company.
Let's just say Rather doesn't fill out the flight suit as well as you know who.....
To anyone who was praying for our soldiers in Iraq via this thread, I wanted to announce that Silas, my friends' son who is an Army Ranger and served during the war in Iraq, is the proud father of his third baby! Little Nathaniel Evan was born December 27 in Germany. Mother and son are doing great -- she came home from the hospital an hour and a half after he was born. He joins an older brother, about 5, and a sister, about 3. The whole family will be returning to the States so the dad can get his Master's and then he'll be teaching at West Point. Thanks to everyone who prayed him safely on his way.
41 is 80 not 85.
Happy movie watching then you can still have popcorn
Do you mean on his handwritten letter of thanks to supporters? If so, the answer is yes -- that is his "readable" handwriting. I've seen some of his other scrawls. He could have been a doctor.
