I had read an interview a while back, prolly in February about wife beating under Sharia. It was, um, interesting.

You had to speak with your wife first if she was disobedient.

Then have a consult with male relatives to intimidate her about her disobedience.

Put her out of the marriage bed as further punishment. (That obviously doesn't have much impact)

Then you can beat her. BUT you can't bruise her face or anything that would show in public or the abdomen or breasts. Everything else is fair game. Also, as I understand it in Egypt, if you beat your wife and she is hospitalized, it is not a crime unless she requires medical attention in a hospital for more than 21 consecutive days.

Those people are demented.
