Brainy girls have marriage handicap
the Australian ^ | January 03, 2005 | "correspondents in London"

A HIGH IQ is a hindrance for women wanting to get married, while it is an asset for men, according to a study by four British universities.

The study found the likelihood of marriage increased by 35 per cent for males for each 16-point increase in IQ.

But for females, there was a 40 per cent drop for each 16-point rise.

The findings, by the universities of Aberdeen, Bristol, Edinburgh and Glasgow, were published in Britain's Sunday Times newspaper.

The study was based on the IQs of 900 males and females between their 10th and 40th birthdays.

Paul Brown, a psychologist and professor at Nottingham University, told the Sunday Times: "Women in their late 30s who have gone for careers after the first flush of university and who are among the brightest of their generation are finding that men are just not interesting enough."

Writer and broadcaster Claire Rayner said intelligent men often prefered a less brainy partner.

"A chap with a high IQ is going to get a demanding job that is going to take up a lot of his energy and time.

"In many ways he wants a woman who is an old-fashioned wife and looks after the home, a copy of his mum in a way."

Political correct claptrap. (s) Only stuuuuuuuupid women participate in the paternalistic, female slave inducing, baby factory, shoe robbing institution of marriage.

Smart women have children out of wedlock, only use sperm banks, hate all men, have lesbian lovers, and vote for leftists.

Our society needs to allow/encourage intelligent women to be more fertile. Europe is a demographic nightmare are the educated women simply have no/few children, far less than is necessary to keep the population stable. The USA is slightly better, but still very disturbed in the message we give young, intelligent women.

There were about half a dozen very attractive 26-ish women in my early-80's MBA class. Only one of them ever married and none had children.

When the topic comes up at reunions, they mumble something about "men do not like to compete with their wives".

The guys say that these women worked too many hours to socialize normally and expected Prince Charming to show up at their door and then be subservient to their career. BTW, with all of the money these MBA women made over the years, they look great even today thanks to spas, surgery, $200 haircuts, etc. Their attitude is pretty sour, but they look good!

What makes you think conservatives are into eugenics? That's a socialist position par excellence: in a managed society, there will be no "imperfect" people.

Hope you're perfect, or maybe you won't have a chance when Hillary takes over. On the other hand, most of us conservatives would let you hang around.

While it may seem be true, as a whole, libs are killing their own, I cannot in good faith allow a child to be murdered because of the disposition on his/her mother/father. I'm far more conservative than my mother and some kids are far more left than their conservative parents.

I cannot condemn any innocent baby to death. The ends don't justify the means.

I could draw a number of things from your post, but I'll refrain. This thread could get hijacked by a side discussion that has nothing to do with the topic.

I think the thing that's keeping a lot of these "high IQ" women unmarried ain't their IQs...it's their personality (which has most likely become poisoned with anti-male 'feminist philosophy').

I think you are on to something here. University trained women are often victims of the most nauseating FemiNazi indocrination, which renders them severely handicapped in the happy marraige and kids department.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again, "Intelligence is over rated!"

Well yes here in this country intelligence is equated with not having children and going for a career. After all, why waste the brains on little babies and staying at home?

The simple reason may be these women don't want to get married as they went to school we indoctrinated in the ways of feminism and look at marriage as oppression. They bought into the Nike/Reebok "I-am-woman-hear-me-roar" and marriage is not a smart career move. This is the feminist thought process regarding marriage and is wrong.

Bingo.

Of course the career women would never consider that intelligence is passed on to children via training. They consider "smart" showing off knowledge rather than passing on knowledge.

Good call. Many also seem to have a weird paranoia going on, where even when the going's good in a relationship, they are preparing bulwarks for what they see as its inevitable end. A guy, no matter how sincere, just doesn't have a chance against that way of thinking.

Well, intelligence has an inherited component of about 50%. When this is coupled with the fact that most low-intelligence single mothers will not provide the ideal environment (pre- or post birth) for their offspring, the result is a dysgenic trend in intelligence.

Reverse darwinism -- survival of the least fit.

Abortion is wrong no matter what socio economic class opts for it.
Its not that men don't want to marry smart women. Its that they don't want to marry smart ASSED women who try to transfer their aggression in the world of work to the domicile.

Exactly. I don't think it has anything to do with IQ... It think it's values and how they treat others.

I didn't have any problem finding my current better half. I have an IQ of 155. Then again, I'm not a hairy legged harpy.

The ones "at the top" are few and the costs for anyone reaching those heights pay a high toll personally. Not just women.

Exactly. Some "smart" women have different priorities, and getting married and/or having children isn't one of them.
