Wise words. My trucks are all newer than that, but I paid cash.

Not true. As I've said a million times, all the book learning in the world doesn't amount to squat without common sense. Just look at liberals.

I'll take an everyday kinda guy with common sense and the ability to discuss current events with intelliegnce and yes, a little bit of passion, over some pseudo-intellectual who thinks the degree on his wall makes him smarter than everyone else.

Why and the world do you think there are so many chicks on FR? ;)

More junk science - who pays for this stuff?

The people who take it seriously, this study, and act on it in their lives?

"I see couples where HE will buy something extravagant that they cannot afford, but SHE will agree because he permits her a countervailing extravagance."

That's exactly what happened with my friend and the cars. She got the new Honda Accord, but the agreement was that he would get a new car, too (Dodge Intrepid SE with loads of options). They sacrificed any possiblity of building up a safety net in the process. He's always griping about how he wished he had my savings, but I haven't had the heart to tell him that it takes being financially responsible. His wife is an angel, but they're already arguing about how money is tight and he wants her to start working again but she wants to stay home to take care of the kids. I don't see them breaking up, but that's because they both have strong character and no crises at the moment.

Well you can tell your girl(s) that they can feel free to study stuff like partial differential equations and have the benefit of meeting all those hot math guys.

LOL If I ever have a girl, she probably wouldn't have a problem with that. Mr. Ex can do calculus solutions in his head. My uncle is a retired math professor, and yet I struggle with anything beyond geometry, lol. I hope my boys inherit those math genes I seem to be lacking. :)

Translation: My current husband is OK, but if Erwin Schroedinger were still alive, I could be both a wave and a particle for him.

Why and the world do you think there are so many chicks on FR?

Because they know that here they will interact with truly intelligent people, not phony liberals.

Why and the world..

The phrase is "why in the world".

Guess that didn't belong on this thread ;)

Ahem.

I resemble that remark.

And it's in a drawer somewhere.

Should have guessed FRs own grammar and lexicon of proper phrases cop would be lurking. Can't even have a little fun without the cops getting involved. What a bourgeois thread this has become.

I have no faith in my degree. Life has taught me far more. My degree is nothing more than a piece of paper showing I spent thousands of dollars on a (liberal) education I rarely use.

I either always dated women smarter than me or all women ever born were smarter than me.

LOL - that's especially funny, coming from someone with your FR handle! ;-)
