So Much for "Support the Troops, not the War" (Ithaca leftist supports attacks on soldiers)
Federal Reveiw ^ | 12/31/04 | Hank

Today's Ithaca Journal has a letter to the editor from Miriam Rice, supporting terrorist attacks on U.S. soldiers:

If the United States is ever invaded and occupied by a more powerful country ... it is likely that Americans will fight back in self-defense.

Should this happen, will [the media] call those who fight to defend the independence of the United States "rebels" and "insurgents?" I don't think so. And yet that is exactly how it and other media refer to Iraqi citizens fighting to regain control of their country after an unprovoked attack by the United States. I find these words not only inaccurate but morally offensive.

Were the U.S. Army not in Iraq, these people would not be fighting us. It would be more suitable to refer to them as "the Iraqi resistance."

Speaking of "more suitable," perhaps it would be more suitable to refer to Ms. Rice as "Baghdad Miriam"....or even "evil, traitorous skank"?

Funny you should mention that banner...click on the link to the source and it's used
as an illustration in the article.

Thanks very much for the post...and for saving me from future error...
as the banner says "shoot"...not "fragging".

With the loss by francois kerry this crap is going to get worse...

I also think it is going to get harder and harder for them to disguise their sick glee at the deaths of U.S. soldiers...

I will not hesitate caller her a name

her comment "Were the U.S. Army not in Iraq, these people would not be fighting us."

says a lot about a person who isn't affected by children in prison, wives raped, watching a shredder destroy a human being, head first for small reasons, feet first for more fun.

Thanks to the msm there are people like this one!

That's what I'm talking about. The extreme left, or marxists, my term for them, are going to the wall, no holds barred. This is "shoot your wad" for them. If they're going down, they're going down screaming.

Note to "Professor" Rice: We are being invaded, DUMBASS!!! Have you checked the border states lately? Are you insane, or just stupid?

Hell, I live in South Carolina, and even we are being swamped w/illegals here.

And by the way, you and your left-wing nutcase friends already do have a few derogatory terms to describe those who are fighting it. Like "Senator" (Tancredo), and "right-wing reactionary", and "racist", and "white supremacist", and a whole host of other drivel. But that's OK, 'cause we know where you live.

While you were learning how to "Deconstruct the impact of bourgeois, post-modern American culture, and its effect on the lesbian relationships in Greenwich Village" (or whatever other horses**t passes for college education in the post-60's academic circles in which you so blithely slither), millions of normal and real Americans were serving our country and learning the fine arts of self-defense and warfare.

So, whenever you feel ready to start something, I'm sure we'll be happy to finish it for you.

Hey, look on the bright side professor, you won't have to move to Canada, we'll just drag your sorry ass up there and toss it over the line.

Freepers: please pardon my rant. I'm losing my patience w/these "useful idiots".

I didn't see where this lady said she supported attacks on US Soldiers... looks to me like she just wants to call the insurgents something different. I did the same thing here a couple of months ago and the exchange got pretty heated. Who cares? They are wolves running around in a herd of cattle. Are they our cows? I guess they are now...

You seem to be making a valid point, but for God's sake spell out your meaning and stop using acronym's like "ROFLMAO!" which many of your reader's (including me), don't recognize or have to puzzle over.
You must have spent some time on the internet researching the true background to this Miriam Rice yahoo, why waste all that time and spoil it with some jargon that you could have typed out in an extra 20 seconds?
It's like quoting Churchill giving a speech in which, to make your point, you have him saying, "All I can promise you is; "BTT&S."

After reading the numerous responses to this woman’s illogical diatribe, I am surprised that no one has shown any sympathy for her.

Could she possibly be exhibiting symptoms resulting from a direct blow to the head, severe feelings of guilt, or else substance abuse?

Had she recently slipped on some ice, and hit her head?

Did she “pass up” the opportunity to vote in the recent national election due to being engrossed in reading or “acting out” a scintillating romance novel?

Or has she been “flying high” lately?

Hopefully the students at Cornell will show some appreciative concern for her.
Maybe they could even decide to arrange a concert for her, and treat her to a rousing chorus of that glorious tune of 2004 -

Four More Years .... Four More Years .... Four More Years .... Four More Years!

Happy New Year to all!

Whatta maroon! Has this chick NOT been reading the news? It is NOT the 'Iraqi people' who are fighting us. There may be a few Baathists who are helping run the show and providing some money for the terrorists, but the manpower is coming in from all over the Middle East. I believe that a few of the neighboring countries like Syria and Iran are providing assistance to the terrorists, too. They're scared to death of what a successful democracy next door will mean for THEIR countries.
