Tsunami Stirring Up Waves Of Sea Serpents

PORTLAND, Maine (Wireless Flash) -- The recent tsunami in south Asia is stirring up lots of relief efforts -- and it could also be splashing all sorts of unknown sea creatures onto the shoreline.

Cryptozoologist Loren Coleman, co-author of "The Field Guide To Lake Monsters And Sea Serpents" (Tarcher/ Penguin), predicts that relief workers will soon be finding a large number of "globsters" on area beaches.

"Globsters" is the term given to big masses of round flesh that measure between eight and 20 feet. Although the globs look like octopi, Coleman says they are often previously-undiscovered species of sea serpents, dolphins or whales.

Coleman says human relief efforts must take priority but fears that clean-up workers may destroy the carcasses of new creatures before scientists can identify them.

He hopes that workers who come across any strange sea creatures photograph them and post the photos online so they can be researched after humanitarian efforts are finished.

Bizarre sea creatures aren't the only new animals that could be uncovered by the tsunami: Coleman says many undiscovered land animals may also be identified as they move to higher ground to avoid flooding.

Last night I saw a Sasquatch in my hip waders. How he got in my hip waders I'll never know!

Speaking of snapshots (not that anyone was ) did anyone see the cover of the NY Daily News today (12/31/04) ??

Believe it or not,in Thailand some tourists were out sunbathing (topless,no less !) on the same beaches where so many people died !

"Why spoil a perfectly good vacation because a few Wogs died ?"

"Yas.Ghastly,wasn't it ? All that infernal screaming.Bad form ! Bad form !"

Nothing that includes the word "humanitarian" has anything to do with Helen Thomas.

C'mon now, be nice. You know very well that a sock in her mouth and a bag over her head is "humanitarian." ;-)

The victim countries are going to need all the economic activity they can get.

Now if I were a sophisticated, intelligent FReeper, instead of typing this I would be posting a picture of James Carville! Any help with this appreciated.

From our teach a man to fish series:

1.) Google 'James Carville Photographs' and find an appropriate specimen
2.) Right click on the picture and select "Properties" way down on the bottom.
3.) In the properties pop-up copy the source URL, in our example "http://pearly23.tripod.com/carville/jc-ptk3.jpg"
4.) In your post include the source URL in html brackets like < img scr = "http://pearly23.tripod.com/carville/jc-ptk3.jpg" >, with the quotes, without the space after "<"
5.) Make sure you preview.
6.) Go here to learn more: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/757944/posts

My guess is that it's someone who ingests lots of "recreational" drugs and then issues press releases.

It should be img src, not img scr, to correct the typo. Happy New Year!

If anything is disturbed in the sea from the quake it would be in near shore waters. A Tsunami in the open sea is barely noticeable and will not disturb the bottom where the sea is deep. The wave (actually a swell as it wont become a wave until it hits shallower waters) travels on the sea surface. That big breaking wave in mid ocean like in the Poseidon Adventure is strictly movie stuff. Actually mid ocean is the place you'd want to be.

The sea surface at the epicenter would be calm. Deep down, though, there is a compression wave. The larger the lung capacity, the greater the risk of implosion (for lack of a better term). only sea 'mammals' have lungs...

I have always thought that it stands to reason that there are sea creatures deep in the sea that we don't even know about. At least until now.
