Members of PETA said there's something fishy going on in Albany.
A group from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals were protesting outside Bob and Ron's Fish Fry on Central Avenue Thursday.
It's all part of their Fish Empathy Project, which spreads the word about research they said shows fish are just as intelligent as cats and dogs.
PETA feels places like Bob and Ron's supports what they said are horrible practices of commercial fishing and fish farms.
As part of PETA's Fish Empathy Project, members rallied outside Bob and Ron's Fish Fry in Albany on Thursday.
Karin Robertson of PETA said, "Eating fish is supporting such abysmal cruelty to animals. If other animals were subjected to the same type of torture that fish are subjected to before they're eaten, people would be in jail for felony cruelty to animals charges."
PETA wants people to think of fish as "friends, not food" and to care for them like you would a cat or dog.
I just get a GIF with "Play"
I agree!
When I was a kid, we had a pet chipmunk. Chipmunks are supposed to be totally vegetarian, however, this one showed a definite affinity for beef - roast, hamburger, etc. Don't turn your back on the little critters, I always say!
D'jever hear a piece of lettuce scream?
I know, my mother-in-law is Japanese and her house always smells like fish. I don't know what people think about the smell in our house, my wife bein' half Japanese and all. ;^)
so what can u eat, i wonder?
...are scrumpdiddlyicious!
Does anyone know how to replace PETA's homepage with that video?
I don't know about a load of Crappie but I know what I would say to a PETA member next time I see 'em - Since they don't seem to enjoy the peace and relaxtion of fishing I'd go up to one of them and say "...Hey, PETA-Person, let me show you what you're missing! Come fishing with me ... CHUM!..."
