Gregoire's Acceptance Speech
Associated Press via KGW ^ | 30 December 2004 | Christine Gregoire (a.k.a. Gregovych, Gregovich, Fraudoire)

Posted on 12/30/2004 9:28:58 PM PST by Josef1235

Here is Gov.-elect Christine Gregoire's victory speech, as delivered Thursday in the state Reception Room of the Capitol:

Well, an election night without end has concluded. The votes have been counted, the count has been certified and I am honored to stand before you as governor-elect of the great state of Washington.

Today could not have happened without the wonderful people who are with me today - the "First Mike" of the state of Washington, my husband Mike, and our two wonderful daughters, Courtney and Michelle, and we're joined by Speaker Frank Chopp today as well.

I want to start by congratulating Dino Rossi for running a strong campaign that helped sharpen the focus on the challenges our state faces in the years ahead. In the beginning, this was an election about many issues. But by the end, the election itself became the biggest issue. There were some unreasonable attacks during the recount. Fortunately, unfounded accusations were not enough to obscure the importance of what was happening.

Across the state, Republicans and Democrats dedicated themselves to protecting the integrity of our election system. They sat at the same table for days, counting ballots. And each time a ballot was counted, Democrat and Republican observers reached an agreement. That single gesture of bipartisan cooperation, repeated millions of times across the state, is a small symbol of our state's larger desire to be united. We showed that fundamentally, Washington will not allow itself to be divided by region or party or politics.

We worked together to ensure that votes were counted, problems revealed, mistakes fixed.

We proved that Washington is not Florida. And now, we will move forward.

Less than two weeks from today, I WILL take the oath of office as your governor of the great state of Washington. We may start with a narrow margin, the narrowest in the state's history, but we will not limit our goals. Whatever the issue and whatever the challenge, I will listen and I will lead.

The election is behind us, but not forgotten. We will review what worked, and fix what didn't. And let me be clear - change will not stop with our election system. We're going to tackle the tough issues that matter to all of us. We will give our kids a better education, we will insure health care for Washingtonians, and we will make Washington state a place where we are proud to live and proud to do business.

Ladies and gentlemen, there's much work to be done. And I have to say to you, I can't wait to begin.

So my fellow Washingtonians, Happy New Year. God bless each and every one of you, and God bless the great state of Washington.

Yes thats what I heard also! Military ballots were tossed in the trash because they got to them one day late. No fault of theirs, hundreds were thrown out, because of the Democrats, ''mistakes'', but mysterious ballots ''found'' almost a month after the election in a warehouse were let in!Go figure!

No no, I believe you. I guess I meant it is beyond comprehension that the judicial is really running this country - into the ground and fast.

It is worth a fight. Even if Rossi loses the fight in the meantime maybe Fox or other Real news can expose the sham to the nation.

Ah, Fox News. Now there's an angle I didn't think of. The local MSM is now in Gregoire's pocket, so if Rossi comes up with verifiable proof of fraud, they'll put a lock on the story. But Fox News...

That may be the way for Rossi to go.

Democrats have no shame. Why won't Jesse Jackson just go away. Disappear with other phonies like OJ, the Ramsies, and others.

Keith Oberman should also be ashamed of himself. Voter fraud produced 110,000 votes? What a hack

I find it hilarious the groaning over Murdoch and Fox News. Let's see we have BBC and CNN - the largest world news networks filled with liberal bias. Yet, that's not good enough. They can't allow one MODERATE network to have a conservative bias once in awhile.

Here in Canada we just got Fox. My city doesn't have it yet ... waiting anxiously!

Keith Oberman has no shame, he's a media whore! And Jesse, well Jesse,...... that's a whole other story, but let's put it this way ,if Jesse ever decided to disapear how on earth would he ever pay his mistress 100,000 a month to do nothing, raise numerous love children, and live in the lap of luxury, traveling on private jets, get massages, and stay in luxury hotels all in the name of ''disenfranchised poor African Americans'' that don't exist? I dont think even Jesse's smart enough to figure that one out!

Thank you for leaving out the references to Clinton and "doing the peoples work." I about barfed when I heard the news conference live. Obviously, Chris is taken with the wonderfulness of Bill and Hillary Clinton. With role models like that I am sure that as she leave office (assuming we are unsuccessful in preventing her from legally taking office) she is likely to pardon all kinds of drug dealers and international money launderers.

I actually had anticipated that she would have told us that she was going to provide us with the most ethical and honest Governorship in the history of the state....nah, even she knew we wouldn't buy that.

Dino was on FNC today, on Special Report. Chris Wallace interviewed him. He did well, and I was glad to see him making his case on a national level.

I hope the voters in Washington remember her antics in the next election and throw her and her cronies out of office.

No chance. Four years is a lifetime in politics. Gregoire and the 'Rats will have that time with their hands on the levers of power to patch this up with the sheeple. Just dump more free money on the sheeple (raising taxes to pay for it, pleading "hardship" and the need to make "tough choices" as justification), and the sheeple will think everything is just ducky. Meanwhile, the Republicans will be playing their usual role, slinking off to the sidelines, shut out of power for yet another election.

Rossi is doing the right thing in fighting this fraud. I'll ask again of those who keep saying lie down and concede and run again the next time (and lose again), how many times? How many times do we have to lie down for this kind of fraud before we decide we're not going to slink off quietly into the night? Rossi might not win the fight, but at least he won't lie down and take on in the butt like a good Republican loser-boy. If you're going to go down, at least do so fighting for what you believe in. Don't be a rubber stamp for the 'Rats and their theft and dishonesty (unlike the SoS Reed).

Good point. But I still think Maria Cantwell is a good US Senator... and a moderate voice in the Dem party we need to keep...
