I was just watching CNN's coverage of the tsunami disaster and they had Patrick Leahy on commenting about it. He went to great lengths to state that the President had waited to long to make a public statement about the crisis and that our initial offer of $35 million dollars was not nearly enough. To her credit, the interviewer said that the White House was claiming that the President's critics were unwilling to give him credit for anything he did to which Leahy responded that he would give credit when credit was due.
Look for them to cite GW's inaugural festivities' budget as evidence of greed and lack of caring for the poor and downtrodden. We'll see editorial cartoons of GW in Roman robes -- a la Nero -- fiddling while a tsunami hits in the background. This picture would also work nicely if something was blown up in the background, a homicidal Iraqi car bomb, or whatever. Now on Fox, the democratic critic is complaining that if GW spent less time clearing brush and more time paying attention to world disasters, we'd be liked more. Frankly, my dear, who cares?
I thought the Heinz-Kerries are on vacation in Idaho until early January?
Oh, good. I just couldn't sleep at all last night wondering what Patrick Leahy thought about this situation. Now, if only P. Diddy would weigh in...
The Demorats favorite past time, dancing on the graves of the dead.
See post 41
I would be afraid of Aids I wouldnt want Leahy anywhere near my butt.
Leahy = Definition of RAT!!!
Move over Brutus, you've met your match!
It must be great being a Senator. You can say whatever you want and you have ZERO responsibility for actually getting things done. And the egos--my God the egos. Could this be why Senators almost never get elected President? Methinks it is.
lets all write Patrick a nice letter and tell him to shut up and sit down!!!!!!

we can bring to his attention that Vt came in 25 on the generosity index of states and how they donate to the poor
DITTO!!!
We don't owe the world a living or a saving as far as that goes. We will do what we can, but to say we should dump all the money we have in there just is not realistic. And where do you get off saying we are not doing enough? Can't you read? Did you not see where the 35M is just the start? This was all we had in our emergency fund and more will have to be voted through Congress. We are also sending ships capable of making 90,000 gals of fresh water a day from sea water, many helicopters, food, medical supplies , marines, medical personel and various other things to the areas hit. This doesn't even take into account the millions being donated by private citizens of the US. If you think we are not doing enough then follow our lead(the ones who have donated privately) and shell out some of your own bucks. How can I say we are doing enough? Easy, we are Americans and we always do more than our share, our private donations alone are bigger than most governments.
Shhh...don't tell them. They're obviously too stupid to figure it out for themselves.
Go f*** yourself.
Roger that. I could think of some other choice words, but most of them are not printable.

Heh!
Patrick Leahy is a loud-mouthed buffoon. Ignore him and (if the world is lucky) he will go away.
Michael Moore could cause a tsunami by simply wading into the Pacific Ocean. I am happy to have him as the face of the Democrat Party as long as they'll have him.
