I was just watching CNN's coverage of the tsunami disaster and they had Patrick Leahy on commenting about it. He went to great lengths to state that the President had waited to long to make a public statement about the crisis and that our initial offer of $35 million dollars was not nearly enough. To her credit, the interviewer said that the White House was claiming that the President's critics were unwilling to give him credit for anything he did to which Leahy responded that he would give credit when credit was due.
Could it possibley be that President Bush was waiting to give Kofi Annan the opportunity to speak first in order to give the UN credibility? Could it be that after Annan dropped the ball, that Bush was forced to step up and speak first?

Odious Toad - sounds like a great name for a heavy metal band!
Perhaps Theresa will write a personal check.

Perhaps Theresa will write a personal check.
Hey Pat -- it MUST be true because we say it's so, you irresponsible POS. (rant over)
Yes! We're definitely overdue for a reprise. At least then the entire left (Leaky Leahy included) can get off Rummy's back and bash Cheney for awhile again. Boy, this gets old.
I assume that this documentary will include real time footage of the first 7 minutes after Bush learned about the tsunami?

My question to Leahy..........what have you done buster?
Senator Kerry could not be reached for comment.
Kerry has been in Ketchum, Idaho, for several weeks, and he plans to go to the Middle East for the first two weeks of January.
Skiing?
I hope you are all busy e-mailing the "odious toad" or the piece of turd.
Leahy can kiss my grits.
I was waiting to see how long it would take for the Bush bashing to begin. SURPRISE!!! I didn't have to wait long!
The democrats are willing and able to use any death to use to further their political gain. From the single death of a senator killed in a plane crash with his son turnimg the wake into a campaign rally, to the 1,000 deaths rallying cry last summer, to the Florida hurricanes being tied to the U.S. not signing the Kyoto Accord, to the `not personaly signing the letters', to the disaster is SE Asia.
My God, they are a disgusting piece of crap.
The tide water had not receeded before the enviromentalist were claiming the the 9.0 quake was due to building freeways and pumping oil causing a weakening in the sperical structure of the earth.
If GW had delivered a `I feel your pain ' speech imediately after the event and had the Indian and Pacific fleets already at the docs, these same demonrats would call it grandstaning for political purpose. They would all call it undermining the U.N. Oh, wait, they are doing that as I write this.
We are not moving fast enough with sufficient money ($30 + Million. Kofi is meeting next week with E.U. leaders to see what he should do with their $14Million.
We should just ignore the demonrats and their media mouthpieces. All reputable (repulican) interviews should be going to conservative talk shows and newpapers. Ignore the others.
lol. Best post on the disaster flap that I have seen. I like the way you think.
Precisely.
Just as the socialista penny-ante dictators and corrupt UNionists and american libs have an infinite amount of hate for President Bush and God fearing conservatives, so do they believe that the US has an infinite amount of taxpayer money to donate to their favored Swiss account!
Well they can KISS MY ROSEY RED IRISH ASS.
