PARIS (AFX) - France Telecom (Paris: FR0000133308 - news) said its TPSA unit, in which it owns a 47.5 pct stake, will cut 3,500 jobs in Poland next year, out of a total of about 30,000. Another 500 jobs will be cut by employee retirements, a France Telecom official said, after the group informed labour unions of the job cuts on Monday. TPSA has been cutting jobs since France Telecom acquired its stake in 2000, when the operator had some 75,000 employees. About 6,000 jobs were cut at TPSA in 2004, France Telecom said

Don't worry, Poland is a great Country and the Polacks will gain many other jobs, thanks to American firms. They don't need French monopols.

Ah the wonders of joining the EU.

This is what happens when the people running the country don't know enough about economics to install good privatization laws. Now western Europeans are buying Polish industries for next to nothing and laying off thousands of workers.

When the curtain fell, I supected the educated and hard working people of Poland was a good place to invest. They have not let me down. It feels good to help an emerging democracy, and a great ally, going back to the revolutionary war.

Yeah and two of the guys responsible for it are here on FR: Lukasz and Grzegorz 246. They are both poles who work for the EU. Grzegorz 246 even admitted to organizing votes for the the EU. Yup, our very own EU trolls here to spread the word of EUfacism's high points.
