Parents Booted from Campus for Taping Pro-Homosexual Events
AgapePress ^ | 112/29/04 | Jim Brown

Two parents outraged over a homosexual awareness day at a Massachusetts high school were kicked off the campus after a mom began videotaping the event.

Newton North High School in Newtonville recently held a "Transgender, Bisexual, Gay and Lesbian Awareness Day." Students at the school were allowed to ditch classes and attend assemblies and workshops with titles such as "Out at the Old Ballgame" and "Color Me Queer." Presentations also included frank discussions advocating sodomy.

Parent Brian Camenker, who kept his son home that day, says the presentations by homosexual activists were bizarre and morally offensive.

"One [speaker] in particular talked about how [he considered] his older brother ... a role model [and how] his older brother came out as a gay boy -- and so he did that too," Camenker says. "And then he went on to talk about how he fell in love with his sister's husband."

Camenker and another parent were ordered to leave the campus and were threatened with arrest (for trespassing) after the other parent began videotaping the school assembly. He says they were told they had one minute to leave.

"It makes you feel like you're in Nazi Germany ... or a communist country because, you know, these people are bound and determined to indoctrinate people's kids in homosexuality, whether parents like it or not," he says. "And the idea that a parent could be threatened with arrest [is] absolutely outrageous. Believe me, this hasn't ended yet."

Camenker says he plans to complain loudly to the school committee and other parents.

The school doesn't want the world to know what goes on there, huh?

The public school system is America's equivalent to the Gulag.

Only more contemptible.

A friend of mine, who is a respected teacher in a public school, is far more afraid of the "impact" of home-schooling, than these instances of ... well actually, she refuses to even hear of this kind of story, therefore it has not happened.

Here's a prime example of why liberal nutjobs do not want school choice. They know parents would not put up with this crap if it occurred at a school of their choosing.

Public schooling has to come to end if this country will survive.

Wait a minute, they don't throw parents out for videotaping football bames and other semi public activities. Why are the school officials ashamed of their activities?????

Homosexuals recruiting again, I see.

This "event" is nothing but state sponsored pedophilia and should be seriously prosecuted.

Isn't that what the communists did (still do)? "I never heard of that happening here -- therefore, it doesn't exist." Un-freakin'-believable!

Why this surprises anyone is a mystery to me as the state promotes the gay lifestyle.

People act that way when they have things to hide.

The parents are lucky they didn't mention God or they probably would be in jail. And GEE!, what a suprise!!! it happened in Massachussetts! I guess the Kerry campaign workers had nothing to do that day!

I guess I am just getting too old to understand how crud like this even begins to approach any level of education.

You're 100% right about that. Unfortunately, in a state like Mass, the AG will be like an ostrich with its head in the sand.

I honestly don't see what harm could've been done by exposing this information to the "light of day" via a videotape. OBVIOUSLY the school felt this information was something it needed to hide. But why?

Plain and simple. When the parent tried to video it, he was run off....from a public school. If I ever have kids, they will never set foot in a public school.

Our local newspaper is constantly haranguing the school board about the lack of openness in their conducting business...where's the press in this case? I would be circulating a petition to recall the school board members if this stuff were happening here.

This is positively disgusting.

But then it is Massachusetts and it is Newtonville which is about the most liberal jurisdiction in MA with the possible exception of Provincetown.

As Chester A. Riley used to say. "What a revolting development this is!"
