Among the tin-foil hats there's frequently a gem - this guy is the real deal. He approaches these issues with a perspective that's not entirely based in Judeo-Christian ethics (not that that's bad) but also shows the practicality of alternatives for issues like stem-cell research (adult human and umbilical methods have shown AT LEAST as much promise as fetal) pain control and euthanasia.

He is well worth a listen and a read!

Hey thanks for excellent the tip. Listened to the program. I learned a lot about what has been a very confusing topic. (Fortunately I don't have to work today!) Must check out Mr. Smith's book. He's one of the good guys.

Yes, he is. I and others have some of his articles posted on the fr, just click his name in the topics section of this thread. For how long was he on? I fell a sleep after the first hour. What did he say about NJ where they have the worst, or should I say most barbaric, cloning law in the USA.

Well I was dozing a good bit, so the only thing I remember about NJ was his repeated consternation over the Princeton professor who is an advocate of child killing.

The thing I found fascinating was his discussion of the successes in using adult and umbilical stem cells, and his description of fetal stem cell research as basically a scientific fraud. I have never heard anyone explain these matters so simply and thoroughly. When they opened the lines to callers, I thought he was going to get hammered, but he took on and handled everyone.

Really a great program. I hope they have him on again.
