That's exactly what I thought, but I wish I knew where to FIND THE FACTS of this issue. Like I said, the government doesn't wanna talk about it for some reason. I remember this one guy who held a hunger strike on Capitol Hill until Congress woould finally hear his case, & after a while, they finally agreed to--Rep. Roscoe Bartlett was going to have something to do w/ that. Then Sept. 11th happened, & well........
Well, what are we gonna do about it--elect members of Congress who will actually GET US OUT of the UN, or cut off its funding come 2006? I may hope so, but I'm not gonna hold my breath: no way will the GOP Establishment make a serious call for that, & even if it did, the Dims would raise ALL KINDS of hell, as would their mouthpiece, the MSM.
Stingy Bump
The Democrats have be 'raising hell' for the last four years about Bush and republicans and it has only hurt themselves both from monetary and political standpoints.
Wow! This hypocrit's untaxed salary needs to be the #1 topic on conservative talk radio. Send it to Rush, Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Neal Boortz and they'll get the word out that this liberal turkey wants everyone else to pay for the UN's charity. I think the UN just wants to skim more funds from the tsunami victims as they did from the starving Iraqi children.
Aw...so now we know why Kerry conducted that little 'meeting' at the UN that no one seemed to remember him having...he was cruising the halls & picking up checks.
Yep! That's the democratic tagline.
A resume that would surely make Mao Tse Tung proud!
Does he pay taxes in Sweden...
Good question & wish I knew the answer. I would not be surprised if he did not.
Going on foggy recall from 15-16 years ago...a friend was transferred to Aruba from the US, working for a US corporation. According to this friend, he did not pay US income taxes on his salary but he was restricted as to how much time he could spend in the US per annum (a couple of weeks, IIRC), but I don't think there was any restriction as to how long his wife & kids could visit in the US. At such a time as he returned to the US to reside, whatever money he brought back w/ him was then subject to US taxes. Don't recall if he was then req'd to pay taxes in Aruba...long time ago & possibly the rules have changed... Hopefully someone with more current info & info regarding the Swedish system will chime in.
No. He is Norwegian...and therefore exempt Norwegian taxes if he spends less than six weeks a year in Norway. The same applies to Norwegian Social Security taxes.
Saw a clip of him this morning--whining that the relief effort was too slow. Of course, he wasn't in the disaster area with his sleeves rolled up.
The pot that calls the kettle black?
I'm not talking about lowering income taxes, I'm going much further than that: I'm talking about repealing the 16th Amendment of the Constitution altogether (which, IMHO, is illegal to begin with). President Bush's tax cuts, as nice as they are, are just crumbs that have fallen from the table.
Wow. Times that by all the other meaningless diplomats and the numbers are astounding. GET THE UN OUT OF NEW YORK.

I am outraged!
The National Retail Sales Tax will not exempt anyone. Every person who makes a purchase in the United State will pay the same tax as every other person -- no exemptions, no rebates!
Yet another reason to support the Fair Tax.
Well considering the House Speaker, the Majority Leader, President Bush and a whole lot of republicans in both chambers want to get rid of the IRS, it may just happen.
