Kennedys Return to Palm Beach

A decade after the Kennedys sold off their Palm Beach estate in the wake of the William Kennedy Smith rape trial, the celebrated clan has made a return to the posh beachfront community.

Reports the Boston Herald's Inside Track:

"Snowbird Ethel Kennedy, who has put the family nest Hickory Hill in Virginia up for sale for $25 million, has settled into a $2.2 million three-bedroom rental on a private beach on North Ocean Boulevard."

The Kennedy widow is reportedly planning to stay for six months, or until it's time to head north to the family compound in Hyannis Port.

The family started making itself scarce in Palm Beach after Smith's 1991 acquittal on charges that he raped Patricia Bowman at the old estate after a night of carousing with Uncle Ted.

After matriarch Rose Kennedy died in 1995, the family unloaded the crumbling 1920s property for $5 million.

That Ted Kennedy was allowed to escape justice when he was clearly guilty of negligent homicide at a minimum and then REWARDED with a life of political royalty in the U.S. Senate says a lot about the people of Massachusettes and liberals in general.

Proof positive that money can buy nearly everything.....

I don't have any problem with Ethel Kennedy either, in fact I feel sorry for all of the tragedies she has endured in her life. Her brother-in-law and nephews are another story though.

One of the most complete accounts of Mary Jo Kopechne manslaughter a/o murder, is
" Senatorial Privilege, The Chappaquiddick Cover Up," by Leo Damore.
This site
http://www.ytedk.com/chappindex.htm has quite a few excerpts , diagrams and photos.
I truly believe that if the internet and talk radio had been around at that time, the media would not have been able to act as accessories after the fact.
A full understanding of the facts that day, will appall you and reaffirm every negative feeling you have ever had about Ted Kennedy and confirm the bias and irresponsibility of the MSM.
It is absolutely astounding that Ted Kennedy not only escaped justice, but, has become the exalted leader of the Democrat Party.
Well, maybe the last part is not so astounding.

The longest running soap opera in America....the Kennedy family. Does anyone really care about these people anymore?

More like the buzzards returning to Hinckley, Ohio.

Ahem. Comparing the noble turkey vulture to the likes of the kennedy hog-wallowers is unfair. The kennedys are more aptly compared to what buzzards eat.

I read she was going senile. The Kennedys are a shanty irish family posing as lace curtain!

Rush built his own pad. The McLean place is being sold for land value. It has six acres in a rather close in suburb to DC.

Hey it's gone from $25 million down to a mere $20 million, who knows in another few months it might be a "steal" at say $15 million!

Seen it. But did he actually buy the Kennedy house down there and tear it down?

I love going down to beach every year to see the return of the Kennedys. Some of their wild mating habits make the spectacle inappropriate for younger children, but you have to learn biology sometime. Last time we were in for a treat -- Uncle Ted beached himself like a big ol' piece of Carolyn Bisset's luggage. It took about two dozen of us pushing, prying & pulling with ropes to get him back in the water, but we did, and it's times like that when you really feel like you've made a difference.
