Deny the Use of the University of Wisconsin Campus to Supporters of Terrorism
(http://www.petitiononline.com/stopPSM/petition.html)
In October, 2004, the Palestine Solidarity Movement held its Fourth National Conference at Duke University.
Nasser Abufarha, doctoral candidate in anthropology at University of Wisconsin, Madison, called Israel racist and spoke in praise of Hamas and the PFLP (both listed by the State Dept. as terrorist organizations.)
Huweida Arraf, co-founder of the International Solidarity Movement, acknowledged that the ISM cooperates with Hamas and Islamic Jihad, then explained how members of the audience could violate American law by lying to Israeli passport control to enter Israel.
Brian Avery, ISM activist and spokesman, explained that John Kerry and George Bush were on auction to the Jewish lobby.
Conference coordinator, Duke Graduate student Rann Bar-On, told the Herald-Sun, that "We don't see it as very useful for us as a solidarity movement to condemn violence."
Mazin Qumsiyeh, of Al Awda gave a short history of what he portrayed as the virulent Zionist disease.
Bob Brown, veteran of the 1960s Black power movement, gave a disjointed talk with references to the Jew war of 67.
Charles Carlson, who has called for attacks on Israeli children every young Israeli is military they are all proper war targets. And said that each wedding, Passover celebration, or bar mitzvah (in Israel) is a potential military target, was scheduled to speak on the Cause of the Conflict: How Judiazed Christias Enable War. The talk was cancelled without explanation.
All quotes form The Intifada Comes to Duke, Eric Adler and Jack Langer, Commentary Magazine, Jan 2005. (Commentary articles appear online at CommentaryMagazine.com about two weeks after publication.)
Jan 14 16, the Palestine Solidarity Movement will hold its Winter Planning Meeting at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. The meeting organizer is Fayyad Sbaihat. Sbaihat, who was one of the organizers of the National Conference at Duke, is, for the third year in a row, a senior majoring in chemical engineering.
The purpose of the winter meeting is to plan the Fifth National Conference. At Duke, Sbaihat said that the 2005 meeting would most likely be held at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. The decision will be made at the Winter Planning Meeting.
Terror supporter = liberal leftist. One in the same in my book.
Another Big Ten Socialist Institution (I think only Purdue has any common sense left out of the 11, the rest are all down the toilet, including IU).
But liberals and dimwits must be allowed to have their say, whaaaa.
Done
The International Soldarity Movement expresses its profound sadness at the passing of President Yasser Arafat, the PLO Chairman and the President of the Palestinian National Authority. ISM activists in Palestine and around the world extend our condolences to his family, the Palestinian people, and the Arab world for the loss of an historic leader, peacemaker, and longtime fighter for Palestinian rights. President Arafat has been the symbol of Palestinian national aspirations for almost half a century. The International Solidarity Movement also has history with President Arafat. ISM activists stood by President Arafat and the Palestinian people during the brutal invasion by the Israeli army in March and April of 2002. The International Solidarity Movement confirms it's commitment to supporting the Palestinian people in their struggle to end the Israeli military occupation through non-violent means.
I happened to save the text before the webpage was updated. Also here is a Google search result page on ISM. Some of the articles describing their treatment of Jews, and associations with suicide bombers are quite "enlightening".
further info on International Solidarity Movement. Along with anti-Israel commentary.
Meant to include you on the ping I sent Molly. So, ping :^)
"But liberals and dimwits must be allowed to have their say"
Do they? When we have young men and women fighting and dying to stop terrorism why should we allow terrorist groups and support groups recruit and raise money on our soil? Free speech be damned when it comes to this activity.
Ditto that, bigtime, TT.
Do these organizations discriminate against homosexuals and trans-gendered individuals?
Well in the Palestinian Authority controlled territories, and the rest of the Arab world, they don't discriminate against homosxexuals, they just kill them. Many Palestinian gays take refuge in Israel, where Israeli charitable organizations assist them.
Who is this Carlson guy? And why isn't he behind bars?
Charles E. Carlson, co-founder of We Hold These Truths, an Arizona-based, conspiracy-oriented anti-Semitic group, was initially listed as a speaker on the PSM Web site. Carlson's name and workshop have since been removed from the site and it is unclear if he will still appear at the conference.
This is hate speech. Why is it allowed?
Thanks. The more I read about this Carlson jerk, the more amazed I am that he's on the street.
