Has NYC prepared for an earthquake, as well?

I doubt it. Given the construction materials used since colonial days, it would be devastating. I can't imagine an earthquake plan that would work.

I grew up in upstate NY. I seem to remember that the entire Hudson river vally is a fault line, and that everything east of there is on a subplate type structure. And that the main fault extends down into the Atlantic west of Manhatten.
