I grew up in upstate NY. I seem to remember that the entire Hudson river vally is a fault line, and that everything east of there is on a subplate type structure. And that the main fault extends down into the Atlantic west of Manhatten.
I lived in Yonkers.....do you remember the quake of 1985?????? I woke up to what sounded like empty drums rolling...it was very freaky....we weren't use to earthquakes.
