We live on a living planet. It is alive and changing sometimes violently.

Title should read ... New York
City ... the actual state extends all the way up to Canada.
Few are aware that a major geological fault line runs from the Ramapo Valley right through Manhattan. Has NYC prepared for an earthquake, as well?

The former northeastern half of the island of Maui apparently slid into the deep ocean. Slide deposits have been mapped underwater there.
Some scientists have expressed concern that the rift on the big island of Hawaii, might represent the beginning of a similar process. If it ever happens (unlikely in our lifetime), the west coast of North and South America will be affected.

Well, an NYC tidal wave would bring about a significant reduction in that urine smell.

"McGuire said close monitoring of the site might give two weeks warning of the disaster. But that was before funding of the seismology project in the region dried up several years ago."
Call me cynical, but it sounds like McGuire is trying to scare people so his funding gets restored.

I've watched every channel about these sunamis, saw many experts tonite & they all said the ocean floor by the east coast is not the same as in the Indian Ocean, that a sunami is not a worry for any of them in that area! I just hate how these crazy rumors start!
Even the experts on LKL (PUKE) said the same thing. LKL was trying to make a big deal about it happening here too & they all said the same thing & debunked him!

I saw the documentary about this, interesting stuff, but despite the threat/terror propaganda, I think this is higly unlikely scenerio. But then I wonder, and although I do not want to give terrorist any ideas, is it possible to trigger such an devastating catastrophe?
