Bush resends 20 court nominees
Washington Times ^ | 12/24/04 | Bill Sammon

The White House yesterday announced that President Bush will renominate 20 candidates for federal courts who were denied up-or-down votes by the Senate during the president's first term.
The move was a direct challenge to Democrats and set the tone for what is expected to be a fierce fight over the Supreme Court, which most observers think will have several vacancies in the next four years.
"The president nominated highly qualified individuals to the federal courts during his first term, but the Senate failed to vote on many nominations," said White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan.  "Unfortunately this only exacerbates the issue of judicial vacancies, compounds the backlog of cases and delays timely justice for the American people," he added. "The Senate has a constitutional obligation to vote up or down on a president's judicial nominees."
Liberals lambasted Mr. Bush for re-nominating what they called "extremists." They viewed the move as a precursor to the Supreme Court battle in which they expect him to nominate justices who would outlaw abortion.

""ONLY 20?""

Most likely not all wanted to be renominated.

...just enough to bleed a little and make their eyes water?

Heheheheeeee. Metaphorically speaking, I say they need a 'spankin' over on the Left. They never got one from momma and they're slow to understand what it means when the sheeple get too many "WARNING" signs...shoot, if the GOP and Conservatives play America First correctly, American could be in 'good hands' long enough to actually RESTORE the Great Republic - the one that you and I and millions before us spent our lives serving, loving and defending

Is it just me?

Go Nuke if necessary. Ram 'em down their throats. and every time a crying Dem whispers the word "extremist" show em Janice Brown's photo and ask them how a right wing extremist push's 70% of the vote in California?

This is good news and it's about time that Bush and the Republicans started playing hardball on the judges. I expect the Senate R's to terminate filibusters of judicial nominees, a process that impedes Constitutional government.

Absolutely the right move. And I hope this is only the start. The libs and dims are crying about how the GOP should reach across the aisle?? Sorry losers, we won, you lost. You reach across the aisle if you want, but if your arm comes back missing from the elbow, just remember all the years we had to put up with the rapist-in-chief.

No. It's a promise GWB is trying to deliver on. He's taken a right wing stance on judges from day one. Doesn't mean he's moving this way or that.

All Bush is looking for are judges who can keep their own personal views to themselves, and interpret the Constitution in a strict manner!

No activist judges! The DIMS would rather have activist judges to mold the society to their thinking!
