Keep visiting. Someone in particular, I don't remember who, does a nice summary (with urls and everything) every now and then. It's very helpful.

Just an interesting story I found while googling around:

http://www.brownsvilleherald.com/top_stories.php

Pilot survives crash landing north of Brownsville (TX)

December 29, 2004 — A man survived an emergency crash landing Tuesday night in a grass field southeast of Los Fresnos after his single engine Beechcraft airplane malfunctioned.

The pilot, whose identity was not released by Department of Public Safety troopers, received minor head injuries and was transported to Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.

He was flying his two-seat aircraft to either Brownsville or Harlingen from an undisclosed location when he crashed shortly after 6 p.m., said Texas State Trooper Jose Lucio. The pilot crashed three miles east of Los Fresnos and two miles south of Highway 100.

Witnesses of the crash described the airplane as a crop duster as it approached the grass field. “It was flying real low and then it sounded like the engine stalled and then it disappeared,” said Corey Sincox, a nearby resident who witnessed the crash while walking home.

NOTE: why was a crop duster flying at night?

Look for summaries by Godzilla. Also tmp02 and MamaDearest (among many others) do daily lists of excellent links. Also Cindy, our link queen.

From your link:

"...The bulletin said the casing reports demonstrate a high level of sophistication among al-Qaida surveillance operatives and suggest that the terror group wants to use people who have experience living in the United States to help choose targets..."

"In one report, an unidentified al-Qaida operative notes that a building “is almost completely made to resemble a glass house — which could be devastating in an emergency scenario ... that is to say, that when shattered, each piece of glass becomes a potential flying piece of cutthroat shrapnel!”"

I had a dream back around '97 or '98 in which huge church windows were being blown in and in the dream I was told were to stay in the building to avoid being hurt.

... and surely many of them don't fit the typical Muslim profile. They could be anybody sympathetic to their evil cause.

Exactly. Adam Ghadhan (sp?) AKA Azzam the American, for example.

I found an interesting analysis from a terror expert on MSNBC called "Decoding bin Laden's Tape" for anyone interested. He makes six major points about OBL's latest tape.

Note: the short summary is by Walid Phares and is about half-way down the page.

WSDOT.wa.gov - WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Advisory - Security Information for Aerial Application Operators/Airports: "On November 1, 2004, a crop dusting aircraft was stolen from Ejido Queretaro, near Mexicali, Mexico. Although there is currently no indication that this has any connection to terrorist activity, the theft is cause for concern. Past information indicates that members of al-Qa'ida may have planned -- or may still be planning -- to disperse biological or chemical agents from crop dusting aircraft. The stolen aircraft has been identified as a Piper PA 25, Pawnee, and is similar to one depicted below. It is registered in Mexico and bears the tail number XBCYP. Iraqi man arrested in Minnesota pled guilty

Updated: 12/29/2004 12:44:26 PM - VIDEO

St. Paul, MN - An Iraqi man arrested at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport carrying digital video disks that contained anti-American images pled guilty and was sentenced today in United States District Court.

Ali Mohammed Abboud Almosaleh, age 40, pled guilty to one count of making a false statement to U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents. Following Almosaleh's guilty plea, Judge Richard Kyle sentenced Almosaleh to time served since his arrest in July 2004 (176 days) and remanded Almosaleh to the custody of the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement for the purposes of his removal from the United States.

On July 7, 2004, Almosaleh arrived at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport on a Northwest Flight from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Upon arrival, Almosaleh made a false statement when he told customs agents that Syria was the only country he had visited prior to his arrival in United States, omitting his travel to Iraq.

The case is the result of an investigation by the Joint Terrorism Task Force, the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Customs and Border Patrol Agency. Assistant United States Attorney David Genrich prosecuted the case.

Brewing hot spots...

PHILIPPINES: Finding the Enemy in a Mirror

December 29, 2004: The mainline faction of the MILF wants peace, but many factions, including some that support outlaws like Abu Sayyaf, and terrorists like al Qaeda and Jemaah Islamiya, don't want any peace deal, they want a separate Islamic state in the south. Many Moslem Filipinos are dismayed that the peace deal with MILF rival MNLF in 1996 did not bring the economic progress promised. But much of the corruption that crippled the MNLF deal came from the Moslem leadership, not the federal government. Filipino Moslems aren't happy, but are unsure who they should blame and attack.

Fumes in the cockpit 'hit one BA (British Airways) pilot a fortnight'

http://www.aviation-health.org/news/browse.php?action=shownews&category=&id=18&topicid=24370

Safety reports filed by British Airways pilots appear to reveal a disturbing catalogue of fumes leaking into the flight decks of passenger jets.

One batch of documents seen by The Mail on Sunday lists 144 incidents in the past five years a – rate of one a fortnight.

The problems suffered by pilots and crew during flights on Boeing 757 jets include dizziness, disorientation, nausea, tunnel vision, slurred speech and becoming ‘incapacitated.’

In at least 35 cases, pilots on packed passenger jets had to put on oxygen masks. One flight report states: ‘Serious incident: Crew unaware that they were becoming partially incapacitated. Pilot then forgot to slow aircraft.’
