A new view on politics

Posted on 12/23/2004 12:29:35 PM PST by tomjohn77

Well I am just posting this because I want to state my opinion on politics from a European point of view, not from Germany, France, UK. I have been going to business school in the US. This have taught me a lot about whats good and whats bad about both my country and the US. You know you always learn something new when you travel. You will find that some of your solutions to solving problems in tour country is suprior and some are inferior. So this is the way I want a country to be runned. I want a lot of people to discuss objectively. I am for lower taxes especially when it comes to small businesses. I am for christianity to be the cornerstone in a society, but I am for peoples right to choose what the want to do and not be tied up. Non christians must not be so judgmental. If people want to take an abortion thats their personal chose. Its not yours or the government. The same goes with gays and lesbians. I want to say I will not like seing them kiss. But what they do inside their homes is not your matters. Thats every individuals chose. Government and people should not care that much about what others do as long as it doesnt hurt them. Government should not be used and misused. I am for strict immigration rules where people should be thrown out asap if they commit crime and cant find a job in a short time. Social welfare should be kept to a minimum. People that dont want to work should live in small apartment buildings an get as little as possible. Drug addicts should be taken of the street and put into big something like a self helping farm community with fences around and be given daily dozes if the dont quit. That will get crime of the street. Let them screw up its their chose. I want a flat taxes that starts at around 15000 dollars. That will cut jobs in not profitable government. I want a higher minumum wage because I think everyboby that contributes to society with a work week of 40 weeks should be able to live of that. With out them doing that job society would not run. Everybody that contributes to society should be proud whatever they do. I my country minimum wage is around 16 dollars. A pluss with a high minimum wage is that the whole country population gets a good buying power. At the same time there should be plentyful chances to make it big. High minimum wage also forces companys to be at the edge of technology to be competitive. A country with low poverty rates are safer. A safer society is less expensive to run. Less money to police and more money to the middle class. Its all about finding the balance that maximizes your countrys resources. The question is whats the optimal unemployment rate, poverty rate. When does poverty cause more and less drag on society. Striking the balance is hard. whats the optimal tax per cent compare to wage. Should people tax that earn less than 15000. Could this tax cut be more beneficial to society than tax cut to the rich. Maybe not? Could tax cuts for the poor make society more safe and by doing that making it possible to cut spending to police and other wasteful posts in the governments budget. Well I am up for comments.

I jumped over to another thread and would have been #2 if Olive the Other Mod hadn't been so quick with the trigger. Thread was pulled.

Thanks for sharing, but what works in Europe isn't necessarily what works here.

I'll skip right to the minimum wage, and only hit the most obvious flaw to me.

Artificially raising the minimum wage will just cause inflation. If you want to pay everyone $16 an hour, then that's fine, but all of sudden you can go ahead and double the cost off all the consumer goods, rent, construction etc..etc...

Unless you want price controls. Which means the government would need to expand in order monitor and control each and every product that people buy.

"my country minimum wage is around 16 dollars. A pluss with a high minimum wage is that the whole country population gets a good buying power. "

Just think how much more buying power we'd have if the minimum wage was 160 dollars!

The economy would go through the roof!

Better yet, lets make it 1600 dollars an hour just to be sure we get all the benefits!

But we can be against high taxes too, after all the minimum wage isn't a tax. It's a... it's a... well it's just the government taking our money and giving it to someone else.

Your opinion is your opinion, but when your talking about abortion, at least tell it like it is, and don't use fancy college talk.

"If people want to take an abortion thats their personal chose."

If a mother wants to have her baby ripped from her womb by an abortionist, its her personal choice.

Abortion is nothing but legal murder (try watching a video of an abortion).

Obviously you can support what you like, but if your hanging every last breath on what your American professors are telling you, you will surely be disappointed.

What's your unemployment rate? I thought so....

A pluss with a high minimum wage is that the whole country population gets a good buying power.

With artificially inflated prices!

Please tell me you're not studying business or economics.

We're not being defensive, trust me. We simply disagree with the economic suggestions you put forward. We don't like government intervention in our marketplace.

You sounds like a mostly reasonable guy, although I believe some of your positions could use refinement.

Don't let the people calling for the kitties (Viking Kitties / ZOT) scare you. Tell them that spodefly said it was OK for you to post here.

Ugh!

The fags are free to frolic at home as it is - that's not all they want.

High minimum wage is counterintuitive. Voodoo economics if you will.

Abortion is a "choice" only in that it's "choosing" to murder. It's absurd to say, "hey, kill your own young girls, it's cool with us." Abortions are being used as birth control. We have to stop allowing abortions and the young ladies have to get off their backs and show themselves some respect.

Jeez, I lost my place again in that monstrous paragraph. Sorry, I'm feeling froggy. That's it Chico.
