SEATTLE, Dec. 22 - After a bitter and protracted recount fight in the Washington governor's race, elections officials announced Wednesday that the Democratic candidate, Christine O. Gregoire, was leading her Republican opponent by 10 votes - a minuscule margin but a stunning reversal of the Nov. 2 election results.
The preliminary results elated Democratic Party officials and came only hours after the party scored another victory, when the State Supreme Court agreed with the Democrats' contention that more than 700 newly discovered and erroneously disqualified ballots in heavily Democratic King County should now be considered.
Since those ballots came from a county where Ms. Gregoire, 57, already had a solid lead, the ruling could allow her to increase her extraordinarily tiny edge in a race that is the closest in state history and one of the closest in the nation's history.

Now that all votes are being counted?
All? I think not. Just selected voting districts where the chance of more Democratic Votes can logically be expected. Those in other (more Republican) are not being reconsidered for recount - at this time.

Gregoire changed the rules as AG in a 1998 recount.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1297209/posts
"At the time of certification for the General Election, the ballots in question were accounted for in the mail ballot report as signature mis-comparisons. Therefore, the Canvassing Board voted not to count these and other ballots with signature problems.
No one raised this issue during the first count, or the machine recount."

Murry Mom,
I'd be interested in your response to this 1998 memo, by Christine Gregoire as WA state A.G.:
http://www.orbusmax.com/cg120704.html
Here is what the memo says:
"Challenge of Ballots Not Allowed. We are advised by the Attorney General that state law makes no provision for the challenge of ballots or voters (as provided in RCW29.10.125) during the recount.
The recount procedure provided for by statute is a mechanical function of re-tallying the ballots cast and accepted as valid by the precinct election officers or the canvassing board during the canvass of the election.
The decision of the canvassing board with respect to the inclusion or exclusion of a particular ballot during the canvass is not open to question during the recount."

HUH...post and run.
No answers to my posts about her mismanagment of her attorney general office, the wasted money, or her past memo on election recounts?
Figures.
But I knew you weren't informed on this race.
Those of us who live out here, are a little more up to speed, than some liberal from PA.

MurryMom! You're back! Hooray! It's been ages!

That is where they've gone fishing for votes this time as well. Pennsylvania was a closer presidential race than Ohio was but the Democrats wanted to flip another state, not lose one. Keep counting until they win. That's all. I know, that's why I kind of 'lost it' with this murrymom 'person'. I've heard about her stoo-pid comments before but this is the first time I actually read one.
And IMO, her saying we're the "sour grapes" people proves that she's a complete jackass. But what's worse is that her and her ilk are serious about the tripe they spew. I swear they all exist in some Bizzaro World.

You're just mad because for once all the ballots were counted. If the Supremes had allowed hand counting of all ballots in FL in 2000 there's no doubt Al Gore would have won, too. The media did do this, and Bush still won.
And if the same media hadn't lied and said the polls in Florida were closed when they were still open in the most Republican area (the panhandle) of the State, Bush would have won decisively. Thankfully, the Democrats' success in disenfranchising voters still wasn't enough to steal in the Presidential election in 2000.

We'll surround her, but she gets to live as the resident liberal...it's a tradition to keep one around and she's it all these years. :-)

When Rossi was ahead (before all ballots were hand counted) he demanded that Gregoire concede. Oh really? When was this?

Ain't she sumpthin?!
She started out so well. Her first sentence is mostly true: sKerry ponied up 250K and Dean supplied 250K, and the State of Washington will be on the hook (for more like 1.5M to 2.0M) should she succeed in staling this election.
Her 2nd sentence is right in referring to anything that involves the Grinch as an aberration ;'}
And this will be a feather in Berendt's cap (I hope he doesn't start bawling again).
3rd sentence is true, too.
Then she make a grand (& grandiose) finish with a foolish quote from an even bigger fool (Berendt) that contains pure leftist projection: ("yada yada bully Republican tactics determine who our governor is or how an election is going to be determined...."). Total BS.
Why is it I keep hearing the tune Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves" when I read about these 'rats?!
