Ummm.... how did you settle on 'Pookie18?'
(I haven't slept for weeks over this . . )
:~)

Mornin'.
"If today's peace mindset was present in the '30's.".....
That WAS the mindset, before Pearl Harbor.
Thanks.

Ummm.... how did you settle on 'Pookie18?' (I haven't slept for weeks over this . . ) Was a fan of the old Soupy Sales Show. I liked the lion puppet on the show; his name was Pookie (that's his pic in the icon below...created for me by FReeper Dan Lacey of faithmouse.com...thanks again, Dan!). When I joined FR ~8 months ago that was going to be my name, but it was taken. I had named my late, favorite cat Pookie after the puppet; she lived to be 18...& thus ends today's history lesson ;-)

Actually, that was precisely the position of the Left until Germany invaded Russia.

The cartoon actually does represent sentiment during the 1930's. FDR was considered a warmonger.
It is why World War II was so bad. In 1936, Hitler could have been stopped by one division, and Tojo stopped by one Navy battle group. In 1938, Hitler could have been stopped by two divisions, Mussolini by another two divisions, and Tojo by Two battle groups and an Army division.
But just about everyone made the error of appeasement.

"Malaysians against George Soros" sounds like a worthy organization.
