David Hall and Jack Glover hid their relationship from fellow cadets and their commander in the Air Force ROTC at the University of Alaska Anchorage because of the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. Among the top cadets in their class, Glover and Hall kept the secret for more than a year. But a decision to confide in a classmate led to an investigation and the end of their ROTC careers in 2002. Now they are among a dozen former military personnel who are suing the U.S. Department of Defense, challenging the policy governing homosexuals in the ranks. Gays can serve in the military under the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, but members who openly say they are gay, lesbian or bisexual, or commit a "homosexual act," can be discharged.

Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, a group opposing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," has plaintiff profiles and a copy of the lawsuit at "http://www.sldn.org/templates/splash/splash2.html". A U.S. Army publication intended to help commanders implement "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is at "http://www.army.mil/soldiers/HotTopics/winter00.pdf".
If you don't cut the mustard, you can't run with the big dog. (Just made that up...)
Sodomites should never be allowed in the military. It is essential that units have good cohesion and homosexuals will do nothing but destroy any good faith and trust in a unit and the military.
Notice how this makes headlines but a concealed homosexual soldier who raped and killed a 17 year old is glossed over. That "soldier" just plead he case to 25 years and a dishonorable discharge.
This has been litigated so many times that I suspect they homo-advocates are just judge shopping. I wish the military would have the stones to ask for rule 11 sanctions. I wish some judge had the intestinal fortitude to grant them.
(Rule 11 sanctions charge all costs and fees on the offending lawyer PERSONALLY as well as the client jointly and severally)
Hmmm, were drumsticks involved in this 'drumming out' of the cadets?
seeya later mary!
That might've worked in the past, but it's not going to work now. We can't even tell people in our country illegally to go home (except for those unlucky few who happen to get caught making the attempt to get in).
I can't figure out how to post the photo of the loving ex-cadets. So go to the article http://www.adn.com/front/story/5938856p-5845184c.html
It sounds like this has been a real setback for these two 'sharp, sharp college students'(sp). But they're young and talented so I'm sure (re: Nicholson in Good as it Gets)
they'll be 'back on their knees in no-time.'
It's all about me. Not what's good for the military or the country, but what I want.
These liars knew the rules when they joined and now they're miffed that they are being held accountable.
Course 'Don't ask, don't tell" was implemented by a commander in chief who was being serviced while talking to a congressman about deployng troops to Bosnia. He had no respect for our warriors and neither do these a##holes.
Whenever anything is 'reported' about "Don't ask, don't tell", it is reported as 'DOD policy'. It's not DOD 'policy', it's a federal law that sets the 'policy' and was passed by congress and signed by Bill Clinton.
It's Title 10, USC Section 654. "Policy concerning homosexuality in the armed forces"
And this basically covers it.
(2) There is no constitutional right to serve in the armed forces.
(3) Pursuant to the powers conferred by section 8 of article I of the Constitution of the United States, it lies within the discretion of the Congress to establish qualifications for and conditions of service in the armed forces.
(4) The primary purpose of the armed forces is to prepare for and to prevail in combat should the need arise.
May have missed a few. You can browse the Homosexual Agenda Keyword search feature for articles that you may have missed.
lj will be gone from FR for a short while. I'm the volunteer until little jeremiah gets back online.
If you want on/off the list let me know.
You have struck it, sir, on it's shiny head!
They knew this "going in" so to speak. The article says they were found out after they 'confided' in another cadet.
Sheesh, the gall.
Can I assume that if YOU were being mugged, and a "240 LB Queer, with a Black Belt & a Gun" noticed your problem; You wouldn't want HIS help?
Whey can't "Gays, Queers & Faggots" DEFEND you or your/their Country?
And so do bestials, incestuals and pedophiles, what's the difference?
We can count on Liberal Democrats and RINOS to allocate major funding toward studies to convert homosexual tendencies ONLY IF "endangered wildlife" are found not reproducing. Hmmm, well maybe they would just look into artificial ways to reproduce whales, dolphins, bears, etc.
I had not heard that story. But I doubt it makes national headlines when any homosexual commits a crime.
Did the story of the Huntington Beach male teacher who had sex with underage students make headlines?
Did the story of the 14-year-old boy who mugged and raped younger boys at knife-point make headlines?
In this case is dating simply a euphemism for buggery? People with a dangerous mental diseases should not serve.

Absolutely True -- as is:
Women should never be allowed in the military. It is essential that units have good cohesion and women will do nothing but destroy any good faith and trust in a unit and the military.
There is a significant difference between the two. Women are kept out of combat for all the logical reasons. Women are also identifiable by men thus it is easy to eliminate "sex in the trenches".
Besides I am sure you have hear of the precombat pregnancies. Women who become pregnant intentionally in order to avoid service in potential combat zones like iraq. The was a good story on this here at FR. Get pregnant and go home.
Then of course there is that wonderful wold of advancement through sexual harrasment claims. (oops innocent? oh well his career is still over)
Remember the first woman fighter pilot who crashed and died because she was passed to ensure good PR for the Clinton administration?
Remember the first woman bomber pilot who was ejected out of the military for "fraternizing"?
This is the military, designed to go places and blow things up and kill people. It is not a dating service, social program, or a san francisco bath house.
