That may be so. The Supreme Court decides issues on constitutional grounds rather than reviews issues of fact. But if the fact steps on the constitutional issue and the politics, too bad.

I have a very "out of the box" suggestion here. (Hang on to your chairs, folks.)

I think the Pubbies should go ahead and appeal to the Supremes and make the best case they can.

If the Supremes refuse to hear the case (likely imho) then I think the Republican Party of the state should hold a statewide meeting.

At that meeting they should plot a strategy for the next four years.

My recommendation would be that they appoint Rossi their state chairman and chief spokesman for the next four years. Rossi should indicate that the Party cannot in good faith condone the process that took place in King County. I would recommend all Republican legislators boycott the legislature for the next four years. They should refuse to appear inside the state house, refuse to vote on any matter, and indicate that in their opinion the governor's election was stolen in King County.

They could picket the state house and protest the election.

They would get a lot of press and a lot of attention.

Hopefully the Rats would pass a lot of really stupid legislation and the Pubbies could hold press conference after press conference, TV ad after TV ad, blasting them at every opportunity.

I think this unconventional effort would make the governership of the state a prize that the Rats will wish they had never won.

To my knowledge this has never been done before--but given the extraordinary situation here I think it could be very positive for the party long-term.

What a different take it is, that 42 votes was "a virtual tie" but 8 (projected) votes, with at least one court case pending, is a WIN. a-MAY-zing.

You are precisely right, Ben. I have told 2 people this already today. Votes were "found" because Rossi was (and fairly is) winning. More would have been "found" if needed.

The only poeple who thought the election in Afghanistan was rigged were democrats and about 15 afghan candidates who collectively shared about 1% of the vote. The latter eventually conceded that it was fair, we're still waiting on the former.

Apparently Dean Logan's news conferance was to say they were delaying posting the vote count until 4:00 p.m. PT now.

You cannot leave a state legislature full of 100 percent dems and expect that state to long endure.

People who elected Republican legislators have the right to expect to be represented in Olympia.

Fighting the system from within is a better course than locking ourselves out.

What's to guarantee those liberal media would even bother to report the goings on of GOP protestors? I doubt they would give it more than a sneeze.

No offense, but pretend-everything-is-good-stick-head-in-mud Republicans sound pretty much like liberals when they deny the obvious fraud. Not all evidence comes marching out and standing in line to be counted you know. We might actually have to (GASP) work hard to expose and defeat it. Calling your fellow frauded citizens "dems" doesn't do much to help. Or do you normally agree that during the middle of the night votes are "found?"

Having said that Rossi was probably the most electable statewide candidate the WA RNC has put forward since Slade Gorton--maybe Rossi should try for the Senate.

If Rossi maintains dignity in the face of this indignity, he will be even better-poised for a Senatorial run.
