The Supreme Court of Washington has decided that over 700 disputed King County ballots should be included in recount for Washington governor.
Haven't watched for years but they used to do Pierce county a lot. Obviously, they wouldn't get much action going to Asotin county or somewhere.
if the federal courts won't touch this - that essentially means that a state court can use its political will to wipe out the equal protection laws within the bounds of any statewide election. they could issue any ruling related to an election to reach their desired outcome, and there isn't anything anyone can do about it.
I don't want to hear them ever stop bitching!

Yes, but consider this. Gregoir, our three-term Attorney General, while exercising her duties as Attorney General, lost this state over $20 M due to what I can only call malfeasance in that office. And she was the top-flight Dem candidate.
I just worry they're too gun shy after 2000 to get involved.
These are absentee ballots that couldn't be matched up with signature files in the county's new computerized system. They're claiming now that they intended all along to attempt a match up with the paper files but didn't get around to it. Much has been made over the security of these ballots, but another thing to pay attention to is the security of the signature files. In other words, did the dems contact these voters after the fact and get their sigs on file in time for doing the comparison now? How do we confirm that the signatures they find (hard copies) were on file at the time of the original canvass decision?
Looks like in the state of Washington voter fraud is called Seattle. Here in Michigan its name is Detroit.

The court ruled today they could count the "found" ballots and the court previously allowed them to track down voters of rejected ballots with signature problems and obtain an affidavit.
So if the new found votes are ruled legal by the state courts, I don't want to press the case with the feds, unless they have PROOF of malfeasance.
Well, at least WA now has an AG that will do the job.
If Washington was a "red state" I could certainly muster a bit more sympathy.
Has Rossi come out with fighting words over the WA decision already?? What is the next move?? ANY word from the pubs or their lawyers....WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?!!

Seven justices will hear the lawsuit brought by King County, the state Democratic Party and the secretary of state seeking to include the 723 uncounted King County ballots. Three of the regular nine justices are out of town on previously scheduled trips, and one temporary judge will join the court.

Actually, I think I have seen them there also. I'm sure it's probably controlled by the Rats too! One of my best friends lives in Pierce County, but he lives in a Republican neighborhood!
He lives in a nice neighborhood, but most of the place is Rat-infested I believe!
Sorry Andy but Rossi lost, fair and square. What is an election if not the process by which all votes of the plebiscite are tallied? It only seems right that all the votes, even ones overlooked be counted especially when previous tallies were within the margin of machine error.
Having said that Rossi was probably the most electable statewide candidate the WA RNC has put forward since Slade Gorton--maybe Rossi should try for the Senate.
BTW did you the sunrise against the cascades this morning? Pretty increbile, life here in 3rd World WA State ain't so bad.
from the threads last night, I am still not sure if the reported "8 vote win" includes these ballots, which were initially disqualified because there was no matching registration in the computer - but the Dems managed to find paper registriations (not entered into the computer) that matched those ballots.
but these ballots are allowed now, but I still do not know that for the counts being reported, these ballots provide the margin of victory.
indeed, all they needed to do was backdate the registrations and slip them into the files - and voila, stolen election. then blame it on a "computer mixup".
