The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic held a press conference this afternoon at the National Press Club to talk about the issues surrounding President Bush's Inaugural Parade in Washington, D.C. on January 20, 2005 and the controversy over demonstration permits for it.
C-SPAN and Fox News were there, as was a reporter for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
The Associated Press, which covered the morning press conference by yet another anti-Bush group planning to protest his inauguration, was a no-show at our press conference. So far, the AP has run two stories today about the anti-Bush group. Here and here. This follows the AP's story about Friday's press conference by ANSWER and their plans for the Inaugural Parade.
Thank goodness for C-SPAN for their fair and balanced coverage today. Before they show our press conference, C-SPAN will show the anti-Bush group's press conference at 9:15 EST. Ours is scheduled to run right after that at 10:12 EST. It should run for an hour.
Speaking at the D.C. Chapter's press conference were:
Kristinn Taylor, Co-Leader, D.C. Chapter of Free Republic
Kevin Martin, member, D.C. Chapter of Free Republic
Capt. Larry Bailey, USN (Ret.), Vietnam Vets for Truth
Nofel Al-jazairi, leader in the Iraqi-American community
James Parmelee, Chairman, NorthernVirginiaGOP.com
Tom Fitton, President, Judicial Watch, Inc.
The press is full of nimcompoops or fellow-travelers. One would think someone would be doing a story on this guy, but NOOOO, they just scribble down whatever inanities he utters.
Bah!
Only when a thread goes up saying he's on........LOL.

Yes, It is very refreshing to listen to some reasonable folks for a change. Kudos to the panel.
Those lefties are so paranoid and jaded in their view of the world, they need to get lives. ;-)

Even though millions of people did not support this war and marched in the streets to stop it, an antiwar candidate will not win the presidency in 2004," said Shahid Buttar, an attorney and activist in Washington, where organizers plan a rally in Lafayette park on the 3rd. Sadly, our votes will not be enough to save lives and end this unjust war. In order to end the US empire's occupation of Iraq, we must go beyond voting on Nov. 2 and engage in the honorable American tradition of civil disobedience to restore justice, peace, and real democracy."
Knock on any Iraqi door and you will see a photo of Mr. Bush in their homes. Giving you goosebumps about now?
Whew...!
(para) "First time in 7,000 year history of our country (Iraq) that the people will decide their leader."
Thank You, Nofel al-Jazairi, for speaking up for your people and for the Bush administration.
Ah....tomorrow's NYT's headline (/sarcasm)
A big thanks to the DC Chapter for all they do in bringing these people to our attention
Otherwise we would never know ... the media sure as heck isn't doing the real reporting on their activities
Nofel: "God Bless America. God Bless Mr. Bush."
GO KEVIN!
White guy with glasses wearing a 3 piece suit in the front row.
Kevin is rockin' the National Press Club!
Didn't realize Fitton was such a looker.
