Hubby knows I hate that feeling/situation and always calls me on his way home from work to ask if I need anything from the store. In fact he called a few minutes ago and suggested that he grab Chinese takeout for dinner, because we have to attend a school board meeting tonight and be out of the house by 6:45. That's a very thoughtful husband. I'm late getting back to where I left off, but want to try and say thank you to all who have taken their time today to come by. Enjoy your evening - I know you're already gone. :)

Billie that your graphics are so cute! Thanks for letting me join in on the celebration for Allegra! Most days I am amazed that we have such fine folks taking care of us over "there".Thank *you* for joining us, Diva. We do have fine folks taking care of us over there - and not just the troops - all those who are over there doing their jobs are brave souls - it's such a dangerous place to be.
Here are some flowers for you and Allegra.. it looks like there are enough of them to share between yourselves!!
WOW! What a flag! Thank you!

Yes, my husband is thoughtful, and I thank the Lord everyday that he found me :)
As to enjoying my evening....LOL! the highlight was when we realized our daughter was asleep on the way home - from the itme we got in the truck until 10 minutes before we got home she never stopped moving her little mouth (yes, she gets it from me)
Actually going to the school board meeting wasn't all that bad - Jax was invited as part of a reading program she was involved in last year. They do a "book" each year and were presenting it to the board this evening and some of the children are invited to read it to the school board. When the coordinator called me last week to see if we could bring Jax tonight she told me that she particularly wanted Jax there in case any of the other children came down with "stage fright" she would know she had back up because Jax has no qualms about reading to anyone anywhere!!!
I'm mindlessly rambling on here because I'm putting off what I should really be doing right now - making peanut butter cookies that I promised a friend, who happens to be the husband of Jax' teacher...........and since tomorrow is the last day of school before Christmas vacation, I need to send them to school with her tomorrow!!!

What a cute picture! The pup reminds me of my dog, Jack, when he was a baby. Glad I could stop by and welcome one of our own back home. You are a special person Billie, to throw this welcome home party. FR is so full of special people - it's a pleasure to be associated with you all. :)

Louie gave me the "God Bless the Troops" graphic; in fact, he gave me several. I usually have a tough time making a decision which to use. :) He's better than Santa Claus, isn't he? I love his gif(t)s! They're always so perfect. :)

Indeed! We have some amazing citizens. I am thankful for each person who is doing a job which I know is hard and dangerous and to be honest I don't think I could do. God bless them- they are all heroes to me.

Wish we had a place where we knew when *all* Freepers would be coming home.
Great idea for a thread! With the ping list we have and others have we can find out!Think about it, okay? You're good at starting threads like that!

Tonight I'm making a lemon-almond pound cake for the job Christmas party on Thursday. If I remember I'll post my recipe later, it's very delicious and fairly simple. I want it! It sounds wonderful!
