Except for a few Philadelphia area freepers I met on a now infamous occasion to some of us, Militia man was the first Freeper I met outside the Philly area.
It was on the way to the March for Justice that I encountered him. He was in a wheelchair at the time and had a flag in his hand and I stopped him to ask directions having guessed rightly that he was coming from the protest. He was such an energetic, hospitable, and enthusiastic patriot he left an indelible impression. Our chance meeting was so pleasant a surprise, that after wards my anticipation for the event soared. My companion and I were like children; we just couldn't wait to get there.
It is six years later and we still remember and have thought about him many times since.
I couldn't be sorrier about his passing and will remember him in prayer for awhile to come. God Bless his son Jonathan, who is serving in Afghanistan. It will be all the harder now that his beloved father has gone. We will pray for him also and all those militiaman left behind as well.

Sad news at the holidays.
Ligeia was kind enough to post a link to this August 2004 After-Action Report involving Militiaman7, http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1196502/posts, but I don't know if you had the chance to attend or to meet Militiaman7.
Hope to see you at the Inaugural Parade and Ball

This is very sad news indeed, Militiaman7 was the very first FReeper I met when I joined him and his son and two of his son's friends at a Bill Clinton fundraiser at Patricia Kluge's estate in central Virginia back in '99 or '00. We posted up just outside the grand entrace to her estate and were such a nuisance that they ended up detouring most of the guests in through a back entrance just to avoid seeing us...LOL!! Dave had the patriotic tunes cranking from his son's boombox and portable lighting for after the sun went down. When Slick Willie's helicopter came flying by, we defiantly spotlighted the banner I had painted that read,
"Slick Willie, RESIGN NOW...or else!!" A grand time was had by all, including the Secret Service folks assigned to monitor us!!
Dave was a stalwart FReeper, prepared to do whatever it took to stand up to the injustices of the Clinton Administration, and I was honored to FReep by his side a number of times in DeeCee as well. He will be sorely missed!!
