Time has this funny way of "sucking up" on its covers and twisting imaginary knives on the inside pages.

Even your five points, collected and ordered in bite sized chunks, took me effort to read. Changing peoples' minds is no small task, is it?

I was thinking it looked George Washington-esque. But I'm sure Time picked it for some sinister reason.

I got a glimpse of the cover on CNN. It's all right, but you can see Time worked hard to find a shot that wasn't totally great. For instance, not the 'need wood' shot, or the aircraft photo, or that wonderful picture the night of his acceptance speech. It's a full head shot, no smile.

Yup. It's asking the reader to synthesize the information, when virtually all of our education is analytic.

Changing peoples' minds is no small task, is it?

This is harder. It's changing the way they see, undoing a lifetime of indoctrination in the process. You first have to use an example by which to convince them that the existing model CAN NEVER WORK. That's not so bad if you can use an example that is tangible to them, but such is an individual matter, not exactly appropriate to a book. I may do a true e-book some day with a number of paths through which they can read it. That way people can use familiar cases by which to understand the global concepts more easily.

The Tragedy of the Commons.

The book starts with a quote from Hardin's famous article.

I'm going offline while I make up the panel for a house network (full bundle cable with seven room drops). Lots of coax to terminate and Cat-5 to punch down.

What with the pure gray hair on President Bush? Not that I have anything against gray hair, I think it's quite attractive on a man. However, this is not a good likeness of W, in my opinion.

"I think the natural instinct for most people in the political world is that they want people to like them," Bush said. "On the other hand, I think sometimes I take kind of a delight in who the critics are."

BWHA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!

May God bless George W. Bush and, yes, America. Even amongst the freest and boldest open criticism, he won!

Considering the source, President Bush did pretty well in that one :-)

True, especially considering that their readers vote 80+% for Jimbo McDumbass.

Rumor had it that it is Bush and Karl Rove, together. Also, there was much FReeper speculation of just how TIME will spin this to select Bush, but to make him look very bad in the same breath. Any predictions/thoughts on either of these?

Answer: If they include Rove, they've insinuated Bush is just a puppet on Rove's knee...got it?

I could be wrong but I believe Obama will put some distance between himself and the Congressional Black Caucus. At least I hope he does

If he's smart he will - and I think he's smart. He's not going to become a lap dog to the likes of Jesse et al.

Aside from that, something has always puzzled me - His father's black, his mother's white - (raised by mother after father abandoned them when he was little) - Why is someone who's half black and half white always "black?" The biggest puzzlement to me is why is he democrat? He seems to smart for that.

What's Bush doing in front of the Canadian Flag on the Drudge site? We buy Canada or they surrender? Things yet to come?

LOL

New Brunswick and Nova Scotia are quitting Canada and becoming part of New England...;o)
