Remeber how cynical and smarmy Time was in naming President George Herbert Walker Bush "Persons of the Year?" They could not even bring themselves to honor an honorable and decent man.
I went to the Time website to see the cover, and it is blanked out, or I get an error code. They don't want people to be reminded what a cynical and stupid cover Time produced about GHW Bush back in 1992.
The staffs of these magazines are incredibly liberal and out of touch. I am convinced the affirmative action policies of Time and Newsweek to hire 35% homosexuals to their ranks has poisoned these rags beyond hope. To think I used to subscribe to them.

Two of my brothers have cancelled subscriptions to Time for various reasons.
Don't think I ever subscribed to them.

Agreed. I doubt Time is making him out to be a hero. Recall that one year they selected that Iranian POS. But I did get a kick out of his own people dropping his body on the ground at his funeral!

In the Time article, Bush said he relishes that some people dislike him. OH I love it . who could he mean NYT, CBS NBC ABC CNN MSNBC . Take you pick of reporters. Oh and most of the DNC algore;-0.
The finger in the eye or should I say eyes is sweet.

I subscribed to Time for many years mainly because of their excellent news photos. I cancelled during the 2000 election and never went back.

I bet they'll have some nice pcitures inside, too . . . preferably of him with Laura, and maybe the girls also. Probably better not read the article . . . they'll find something bad to say . . .

Alter is saying that Newsweek is trying to get a tradition started for who will be making news in the coming yearTalk about self-fulfilling prophecies. Rather than this being a prediction of anything real or substantive, this is merely an advance look at the Newsweak editorial calendar. They're tipping their hand that they intend to feature Obama, in the same way that CBS' 60 Minutes has been featuring anti-Bush Viacom-owned books and authors, or the way that Proctor & Gamble sells toothpaste and laundry detergent, or the way that the Hollywood studios established the "star system" that more often than not attempted to advance the careers of mediocre performers.
Undoubtedly they plan to implement a "reporters' incentive program", whereby any reporter mentioning Obama in a favorable light in an article gets reward points that can be redeemed for Caribbean vacations, flashy automobiles, hot women (or men), or cash. It's a transparent ploy which will probably get little traction.

When this was down last night, I was lurking at the DU, and they are talking Obama/Clinton or Clinton/Obama ticket. They are even throwing around Ron Reagan and wessely Clark.
Weird, weird bunch over there...Oh yea...Bush stole this election as well according to them. They want a massive protest and are trying to figure out what they need to do.
