Well, I'm not sure how the "far right wing" has been an influence in the Republican party. What has President Bush done that is "far right wing"?

Sometimes I think this is just a game: How many people can be made to believe that anything that is not quite as socialist/internationalist/anti-religious as the Democratic party is "far right".

If that's far right, then I will proudly be so, and more.

This from a governor who was so far to the left that she made Barney Frank look like Ronald Reagan.

I hope nobody here buys this moron's book even if they find it on a discount rack for $0.99.

[ WASHINGTON (AP) Former New Jersey Gov. Christie Whitman writes in her upcoming book that if the far-right wing of the Republican Party continues to be a major influence with the GOP, the party will be seriously harmed. ]

However she could be 100 percent WRONG... as usual..

But the premise of Whitman's book ``It's My Party Too: The Battle for the Heart of the GOP and the Future of America,'' is on how moderate Republicans must regain control of the party. The right-wing of the party has claimed credit for Bush's re-election.

Yes, and we will be in the minority in no time once the spineless moderates take over. And most moderates will be perfectly OK with that, since they mostly agree with Democrats, anyway.

Ms. Whitman is a pol from the sclerotic Northeast (where I live, sadly). It is only a matter of time before that section of the country is totally irrelevant, since most of the population that gives a damn is leaving in droves.

Hey Christie, I proudly admit to being a member of the Far Right. I can assure you that the Republican Party has not catered to me!

She wrote the book hoping Dubya would be a one term president.

Now she has shown herself to be witless.......which is what we NJ folks always knew.

Actually, catering to the baby killing wing of the GOP would hurt the party.

Since the GOP's right wing began asserting its influence with the rise of Reagan in 1980, we have won 5 of the last 7 elections, won over both houses of Congress for the first time in decades, and will have sustained a majority in the U.S. House for over 12 years.

This is a typical blue state, defeatist mentality. I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Poor, spoiled little Muffy!!!! Ms. Whitman was always spoiled by her daddy and mumsy and now she finds out that Republican world caters to her a lot less than she feels is her birthright as a feminazi born to wealth and, ummmmm, "moderation" as defined by the New York Times.

The commoners are actually in charge of her ancestral political party. The commoners don't believe in aborting the poor, allowing Lance and Bruce to "marry," or in disarming everyone but the hunt country zillionaires (inheritance division). Most Republicans are just not at all like the the average Muffies and Skippers down at her country clubs and yacht clubs.

Ah Christie WHitless, whose NJ Supreme Court appointees unanamously supported the placing of Lousenberg's name on the ballot after the filing deadline. Way to go, Christie, it's part of your RINO legacy!

The "moderates" have been whining about this for 40 years and the party is stronger now than ever, and the trends are all good.

Christie Whitman writes in her upcoming book that if the far-right wing of the Republican Party continues to be a major influence with the GOP, the party will be seriously harmed.

Christie, if that is true, could you please explain why, seven so-called far-right wing candidates defeated seven incombant moderate Republican, members of the Arizona House of Representatives in the primary last September!
