LEXINGTON, Va. -- Actor Tom Cruise left a lot of cash in a tip jar for an accident victim. Cruise walked into a Virginia Dairy Queen and saw the jar with a photo of Ashley Flint and her story.

Flint was in a go-cart accident in September. It has left her family with a mountain of hospital bills.

So Cruise left $5,000 in cash in the jar.

Gee, isn't he just the greatest? Better the folks who put in $5.00 and didn't seek any publicity.

You know how Everyone in Hollywood is so quick to tell us what to do, We have to conserve energy (their houses burn more fuel than we ever could) We have to donate to their Telethon we have to help so and so we have to

Did you know Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman have an adopted black son?

Here's two Hollywood people who actually practice what they preach. Unlike Rosie O'Donnell- who adopts 4 white children.

I doubt he personally sought the publicity. An employee at the DQ probably saw him put the money in the jar and called the press.

If I recall correctly, too, he refused to endorse a President when asked during the campaign saying he didn't think it was appropriate. Makes me think he may have supported Bush and didn't want to be alienated.

Can't stand Tom Cruise. He plays Tom Cruise in every movie.

But he eats at a Dairy Queen. He leaves $5,000 bucks in a jar for someone he doesn't know.

My despising of Tom Cruise has been reduced somewhat.

Good for him. This was a good thing to do and he should receive praise for it. Well done, Mr. Cruise.

I'll be impressed when a black Hollywood elite adopts a white child... and raises it themselves... especially one over the age of 4 (not in as big a demand in the adoption world).

Oh c'mon now, from this article at least it's not clear, or even implied, that he sought the publicity. Coming into a small-town Dairy Queen with Steven Spielberg and an entourage of 20 was probably newsworthy enough in those parts. This girl and her family are better off because of his gesture, and I applaud it.

I'm surprised he would have 5K in cash with him. I didn't think stars carried money.

Right! They just bought $100,000 of publicity with $5000. I will be impressed when He donates everything above $100k per year income to help the poor.
