LEXINGTON, Va. -- Actor Tom Cruise left a lot of cash in a tip jar for an accident victim. Cruise walked into a Virginia Dairy Queen and saw the jar with a photo of Ashley Flint and her story.
Flint was in a go-cart accident in September. It has left her family with a mountain of hospital bills.
So Cruise left $5,000 in cash in the jar.

Good to hear this
Gee, isn't he just the greatest? Better the folks who put in $5.00 and didn't seek any publicity.
I doubt he personally sought the publicity. An employee at the DQ probably saw him put the money in the jar and called the press.
His soul is lost to Scientology, but any guy who eats at DQ or Waffle House is OK with me ;-)
If I recall correctly, too, he refused to endorse a President when asked during the campaign saying he didn't think it was appropriate. Makes me think he may have supported Bush and didn't want to be alienated.
Good for him. This was a good thing to do and he should receive praise for it. Well done, Mr. Cruise.
I'll be impressed when a black Hollywood elite adopts a white child... and raises it themselves... especially one over the age of 4 (not in as big a demand in the adoption world).
Wayta go, Maverick!
Tom Cruise is a HUGE DEM...don't be fooled.

Michael JACKSON, are you impressed
There are waiting lists for white Children,
Oh c'mon now, from this article at least it's not clear, or even implied, that he sought the publicity. Coming into a small-town Dairy Queen with Steven Spielberg and an entourage of 20 was probably newsworthy enough in those parts. This girl and her family are better off because of his gesture, and I applaud it.
I'm surprised he would have 5K in cash with him. I didn't think stars carried money.
OMG, you are unbelievable. Are you that miserable that you have to take the time to make a comment like that?
Agreed!
Right! They just bought $100,000 of publicity with $5000. I will be impressed when He donates everything above $100k per year income to help the poor.
"He was accompanied by director Steven Spielberg and an entourage of about 20 others when he made the stop at the Dairy Queen."
On second thought... :-(
Wow, $5000 gets him $500,000 in publicity, good for him.
