How come nobody ever heard of this guy before he died, but suddenly he is an industry giant?
Oh, people have heard of him. He was on a station that served 38 states and 6 Can. provinces at night. His
outing/news of his HIV + status made nationwide news. Among talk radio hosts, he was among the best known. He was only on one station...but it's a big one.
Well, he was local to the Boston area. But I discovered him around 1980 or so, and he really was in a class by himself. Very classy, articulate, knowledgeable guy.
The polar opposite of Sean Hannity.
On the contrary, in New England he's well known. WBZ is 50,000 watts, and in evenings I could hear him here in Virginia. I enjoyed listening to him immensely.
