Missouri authorities issued an Amber Alert for an infant who may have survived after a woman was slain and a fetus removed from her body.
Bobbi Jo Stinnett, who was eight months' pregnant, was killed Thursday afternoon in her home in Skidmore in northwestern Missouri, the Nodaway County Sheriff's Department said.
The initial Amber Alert said that "the fetus was extracted from the victim

Geez when will they call "it" a BABY? WTF?
Praying for the baby . . .
I'm almost surprised that they didn't dumb it down even more to "cells."
=====
Umm... I think "sells" is more on point !!! ;-))
This world is truly sick! What a dangerous time to be a pregnant woman...
Who's Amber?
The ACLU, N.O.W and all abortion rights groups declare it to be a fetus.....i.e. a sub-human.
Remember, beings of this nature which are in or outside a mother's body don't became human and deserving of any protection until these people say so.
Actually, there is a very lively arguement over semantics in the DU right now. They think MSM bowing under pressure to conservatives by calling the baby a fetus and supporting pro-life views.

So when they find the "fetus" will they start calling it a baby?
That's typical. DU'rs argrue semantics while a baby gets cut out its mother.
Here is another interesting excerpt from DU:
"I'd imagine they're having some trouble with their headlines.
The report I just heard on CNN was that there is an AMBER Alert out for an eight-month old baby girl. Now how screwed up is that? This is technically a stolen fetus, premature baby, -2 month old child, whatever; it most assuredly is NOT an eight-month old baby girl!
Don't know how many Christian fundamental extremists any of the rest of you are actually acquainted with, but a few I've had it out with, over when life begins, what the definition of a citizen covers, or whether or not a three month old fetus should be called "baby", this was a sticking point. The notion of counting the months & years of their children's lives, beginning with the day of conception, however weird that sounds to normal folks, is pretty popular with some of them. When I listened to the news & heard that the fellow from Missouri, who was a local reporter, stressing that ridiculous line..."eight-month old baby girl"...all I could think of were some of the anti-choice nuts I know. That's what they would say.
Anyway, the ticker is saying eight-month fetus, which I think would be the best description, if they honestly hope to locate her."
I don't think you have to be too skilled of a surgeon if the life of the mother isn't important. I've watched watched three C-sections, and it takes about 15 seconds to cut open the abdomen, pull the baby out by its head and cut the cord. It's all the putting things back together properly to keep the mother alive that requires the surgeon which was not the perp's goal in this case.
Sheesh!! Next thing you know, we'll be seeing sonogram photos on milk cartons....
If the fetus was born alive, then premature baby or simply baby. Regardless of whether it died shortly afterwards.
If the fetus was not born alive, I would use stillborn baby.
Eight months is to far along to be talking about fetuses.
Maybe it was some sicko that wanted to sell a kid on the black adoption market.
Geez when will they call "it" a BABY? WTF?
Exactly my reaction, it's a PC term, and not the facts. IT IS A BABY, NOT a fetus!
