We know that Fox, among others, has people who regularly scan FreeRepublic for items of interest. I want to take advantage of that to try to get some ideas in front of Roger Ailes and crew.
I'm going to lay out my ideas below, but I have a feeling that not only will others have their own equally good, or better, ideas, but that there will also be folks who think my ideas are way off base. So be it. That's the idea behind posting this here, so that there can be open discussion of what is of interest to folks "like us," Freepers, pajamahadeen, et al. Maybe some bits and pieces of a discussion like this will actually get to the powers that be at Fox and have some impact. FR tends to give one delusion of grandeur anyway, so why not?

I can't stand Linda--she is presented as a "Facial Expression Contortionist" and not as a serious news person. However, I did not know what you posted about her background. I think this is true of most FOX hosts--read their resumes. They are not fools. They allow themselves to be treated like and are presented like "TV bimbos". That is the true disgrace of FOX.
They have the News talent on FOX to produce serious News Reporting and news analysis, but FOX chooses to use them as "entertainers". They are the leader of the ratings' pack, so they can do that. I think they are making a mistake. Not to mention performing a dis-service to us news watchers.
More serious news shows where they are actually telling you what is happening on the planet -- not what their opinion of it is. And put the news shows like Brit Hume's and Tony Snow's on during prime time -- when we're going to be turning our TV on. Every time we turn the TV on at night, there is either the conceited, pasty-faced, know-it-all Bill O'Reilly abusing somebody or another, or Hannity & Colmes and their guests inarticulately screaming at top pitch, or Great Von Sustern with some seamy scandal, OR something about Scott Peterson -- CUT OUT SCOTT PETERSON, we've heard enough already!
I still love Sean Hannity and his point of view, and still think he is kindly and intelligent. But they need to stop yelling on that show, we turn it off immediately.
More Tony Snow, Brit Hume, John Gibson, and Sean Hannity (minus screaming) please!

LOL I know what you mean about "issues". I have wealthy neighbors who "married up" that talk just like her...and swear like sailors on top of it. Bless their hearts.

Firing line type debates on same, with enough time for serious q and a and rebuttals.
1. Dump the weekend Fox annd Friends trio (I WILL NOT watch them!)
2. Re-air War Stories at least once. (If Beltway Boys and Fox News Watch can be aired three times each, War Stories deserves at least one re-broadcast).
3. More Color in Prime Time! I'd love to see a black version of Hannity and Colmes. A liberal black and a conservative black going at it and wrestling with issues.
4. Only use the Fox News Alert gong when it's are REAL alert.

my only other suggestion would be that i want FoxNews to court and seriously lead on CHRIS MATTHEWS with some big contract, and then DUMP HIM LIKE THE SACK OF CRAP THAT HE IS~!

The first of the two home pix has the Fox logo in the corner. Since the second one is aligned vertically, I'll bet they had a filler to take up the rest of the screen. The logo was probably taken off when the silly filler was cut out.

I’d love to see the tabloid garbage gone, but tabloid junk is Murdoch’s bread and butter. As long as the Peterson’s, Kobe’s and Michael Jackson’s are bringing in the dough, tabloid junk is here to stay.
My take on some of the shows I’m familiar with.
Hannity and Colmes: Hannity is a machine, you always know what you’re going to get. Colmes is a geek.
I’d like to see some real fireworks here; Coulter vs. Conason, Falwell vs. Sharpton, Perle vs. Chomsky, Rush vs. Ed Schultz...
O’Reilly is about O'Reilly, sometimes entertaining and interesting, too often boring and predictable. I like the Andy Rooney idea for him.
Media Watch: It’s the best media critique show on TV. That ain’t saying much, but it should be an hour long and get a bigger budget.
Geraldo Rivera: He was washed up years ago.
Van Susteren: Garbage, but the tabloid trash must bring in the advertising dollars or she would have been sh*t canned long ago.
After Hours with Cal Thomas: Sometimes quite good. He has interesting guests and it’s not a shouting match.
I agree with some of your comments disagree with some -- guess it's a wash overall. I LIKE Linda Vester's show. I like John Kasic (for the most-part), like the Beltway Boys and laugh at Newswatch -- especially Neil Gabler -- wish we had more Tony Snow, would love to see Joe Scarborough replace Greta and wish they'd found a spot for Dennis Miller, I happen to like Geraldo. Sure he's always part of the story but that's Geraldo very devisive you love or hate him there is no in between.
