We know that Fox, among others, has people who regularly scan FreeRepublic for items of interest. I want to take advantage of that to try to get some ideas in front of Roger Ailes and crew.
I'm going to lay out my ideas below, but I have a feeling that not only will others have their own equally good, or better, ideas, but that there will also be folks who think my ideas are way off base. So be it. That's the idea behind posting this here, so that there can be open discussion of what is of interest to folks "like us," Freepers, pajamahadeen, et al. Maybe some bits and pieces of a discussion like this will actually get to the powers that be at Fox and have some impact. FR tends to give one delusion of grandeur anyway, so why not?

I can't say I agree with anything approching half of what you have said about FNC. I guess that's why Roger Ailes is running it and not you or me.
In general they are doing an excellent job.
I wish for a show (maybe weekly) that is one hour long that shows not people screaming at each other but a more scholarly discussion of topics of interest. Abortion, stem cell, 2nd amendment, death penalty etc. There are many well educated persons that could be put on to discuss these topics in a scholarly manner. Why always have Jerry Falwell vs a ACLU or Athiest lobbyist. Why always the Brady vs NRA person. I would love to see the 2nd amendment dicussed. There is much there without ever getting into gun control laws per se.
I agree. Bring back the cheerful conservative, Tony Snow.
The Beltway Boys and Fox News Watch present different opinions without the shout-fest; worthwhile shows.
Brit Hume is THE BEST in the business. His depth of understanding is way beyond the typical MSM pretty face.
Cal Thomas has a classy show. It's like going to a piano bar and having a nice, pleasant time.
I don't have much use for the evening gabfests. They remind me of The McLaughlin Group, which I gave up years ago.
I would love to see Linda Vester do an evening talk show where she DISCUSSES issues with respected guests. Linda reportedly has an M.A. in Foreign Relations and speaks Farsi (Iranian). I'll bet her IQ about doubles that of the perky one, not to mention the idiotic Diane Sawyer.
Of course he does, but it looks ridiculous when they show the side shot, which is usually only for a second or two.
Oh yeah, despite my criticism of Fox News, I think that the morning host, Brigitte is excellent in her professional smoothness. Never gets flustered and interacts with people in a positive respectful way.
Bill O'Rielly has the biggest ego in all the media.

Now on the other hand Brit Hume is smoking HOT!!! His lower lip is so sexy!!!!
I must say, Kiran is so nice looking that even the moron hair dresser can't make her look bad.

1. GET RID OF DAGEN MCDOWELL (sp?). She always looks like she smells s***. She gives us southern women a bad rap for being snooty. I HATE THE WAY SHE SAYS ... "Nay-el" for Neal. She must be from Atlanta; she has that snotty attitude (I can say that cuz I'm from the Atlanta area).
2. Get rid of Geraldo. He is just sleezy...remember when he was DEFENDING Clinton?
3. Lose the lip gloss.
4. Bring back Tony Snow.
5. O'Reilly drives me nuts.

I was just reading your post! LOL! I'm not sure from where she comes, but she has that haughty, uppity, air about her that drives me nuts.

I would then watch this station all of the time and I think a lot of the other T.V. viewers out there would to.
As it is now I do not watch FOX like I use to due to the fact that it has mainly turned in to a spin off of "E" at times, and "The National Enquirer" at others. And Even now that the Peterson trial is over, they still won't stop talking about it.
And yet for a 24 hour news channel, the only way you really learn of the news on it is watching the scrolling line below the talking heads.
As for my TAGLINE, that was when over a year ago it seemed every 5 minutes that they had a "FOX NEWS ALERT". I guess that was to scoop the other networks.
She has, to me anyway, that backwoods twang with a harsh delivery that a lot of women here in Oklahoma have. The ones who were "fetched up" have a much softer delivery. She sounds almost East Texas (no offense Texans.) The Piney Woods type of an accent.
2) Dump Greta Van Surgery and punish with torture and death any producer that allows any trial coverage that exceeds 15 seconds!
3) Whorealdo? Gone!
4) Bill O'Really Big Ego? Gone!
5) Dump all armchair generals, keeping only Maj. Bob Bevelaqua (sp?) for analysis.
6) Fire all field reporters and producers and replace them with veterans, who know the difference between a "mortar" and a "mortar round", and know that a LTC is addressed as "colonel". Either that or force their entire staff to go through basic or boot, so they can learn something about the friggin' military they're reporting on! Sheesh...there's a war on and all, you'd think they'd take advantage of the situation to learn something.
