In light of some of the previous loser ... err, "winners" ... I would not want the "honor."

Is anyone still reading Time MagazineI asked my Mom to dump our subscription to Time and change to The Economist instead about thirty years ago. I thought Time was trite and puerile (with a laughably high opinion of its importance) even then. I was twelve or thirteen at the time.

Don't be so sure...don't be so sure it'll be a positive piece that is. Hitler was named person of the year once too I believe.

This makes sense. Then they can spend the entire article ripping him apart.

Won't happen. I won't believe it till I see it on the cover itself. Did you believe it when you saw Bush on the cover as Time's Person of the Year for 2000?

With all the spin the folks at TIME will put on the Bush article, I'll be amazed if their heads don't start rotating like Linda Blair in The Exorcist.

Uh oh! Just because one gets picked as 'man of the year' doesn't mean that it is a 'good' thing. I am cautious about this. I hope it is for the good, but fear that it might not be. They could very well try to portray President Bush as being the person to most negatively affect the world. Just an observation.

But it'll still be something bad about him, and there will be some reference to Hitler. He'll be Man of the Year because he was the most divisive, intrusive, invasive, radical, uncompromising, yadda yadda yadda. This is probably the first and only time that I have agreed with you.

The only reason they're putting Bush on the cover is to discredit him, because they will put him as man of the year along with Carl Rove. You know, one person, Bush/Rove, Bush being the puppet for Rove.
They're rotten.

If this is true, I predict the words "Abu Ghraib" will appear before the conclusion of the article's second paragraph.

Bush should also win People Magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive". got that right!
For a lot more reasons than what most people think of as 'sexy' = not just starting with hunk - but resolute, true, dedicated, brave, loving, - well, just keep going - and end with "hunk" too

Actually - re not buying the mag if Bush is on the cover - I think we'd make a better statement - and make them even madder and more puzzled if we bought like mad - Just to point out to them how much Bush is loved!
If sales a sluggish, they'll make a negative story about how Bush is loosing popularity...
I'll buy this one and then not buy anymore. That will give them the message louder - (they don't like us - only Bush. How come?)
Besides, it'll be a good keeper for the grandkids...

These Marxist hacks know that such an award would sell several times the normal numbers for such an issue given the Bush/Republican win--and while they're spiteful and HATE Bush, they're money grubbers just like the free-market capitalist libertarians they want to control....
