It's time to pass torch, younger Dems say
By Jill Lawrence, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON
"This generation is looking for ways to participate because we're tired of losing," says Jamal Simmons, 33.
"We respect the struggles of the feminist movement, the civil rights movement and Vietnam, but (we) are not defined by those struggles," says Kirsten Powers, 37.
As they continue to self destruct, let't remember to continue to not interrupt them.. :)
LOL!! Quote of the Day!
Not a great idea.
The dems are so clutzy that the torch will be dropped and will cause a terrible fire.
Just hang on. Everything will be fine.
But what will they say 20-30 years from now?
"Each generation imagines itself to be more intelligent than the one that went before it, and wiser than the one that comes after it."
George Orwell
Xer Ping
Ping list for the discussion of the politics and social aspects that directly effects Gen-Reagan/Generation-X (Those born from 1965-1981) including all the spending previous generations (i.e. The Baby Boomers) are doing that Gen-X and Y will end up paying for.
Freep mail me to be added or dropped. See my home page for details and previous articles.
Oddly enough she's mouthing the advice I've tried to give the Dems for years. Declare victory and go home when it comes to the sorry stuff they have been kvetching about for 40 years.
Did you say something has happened to Hillary?
Dems went for style over substance. And they keep repeating the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Character comes from within, not from their playbook.
Obama's no moderate.
VOTE BY AGE BUSH KERRY NADER
18-29 45% 54% 0%
30-44 53% 46% 1%
45-59 51% 48% 0%
60 and Older 54% 46% 0%
The reason the dems lost in 04 was because of the senior vote. That's REALLY bad since that was the democrats number one voting block in 2000. Granted it's becoming less democrat as the FDR generation is passing on, but that's still bad. The dems lost the boomers as well, and I suspect the 18-29 vote is almost exclusively because of the war the the "draft rumors".
But she says there are at most 20 people younger than 40 on the 447-member DNC
Two of the representatives in my county are 30 or under. The Republicans strength came from the 80's. The Dems from the 60's.
And there is going to be no change. Which democrats hold the pursestrings. Hollywood, George Soros, Progressive Insurance.
and unions.
cross lobotomy off the list, it was already done and botched
It's time to pass the torch on our side also.
The Baby Boomer Republicans in power have been a big disappointment
It's all in your MIIIIINNNNNDDDD!!! LOL
Age is just a number, remember? Personally, I think if you FEEL old, you are old, no matter what chronology says. There are some days I feel 92 instead of 29.
I read this entire article elsewhere...funnier than a rubber chicken.
