And what about Giuliani? (Kerik Imbroglio - KERPLUNK!)
JEWISH WORLD REVIEW ^ | DECEMBER 15, 2004 | FROMA HARROP

New York City is a hall of funny mirrors, which is why even its smartest politicians don't know what normal looks like. Thus, it is entirely possible that former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani didn't notice anything strange about Bernard Kerik, who once served as his police commissioner.

But while a raffish touch can be charming, a walk on the wild side is quite something else. Bush had no choice but to take a pass on Bernie Kerik.

None of this will change Giuliani's political future. Had Kerik been a model Scout, Giuliani would still be facing a most unpromising career on the national stage. Sure, the president wanted him glued to his side during the campaign. Giuliani's job was to lend the aura of 9-11 valor. But if the former mayor read into that any kind of endorsement for a White House run, then he was suffering another judgment malfunction.

The nanny's immigration status might not have seemed a big deal to outsiders.

This is obviously the most attractive tip of a very large iceburg.

I even doubt if Rudy can be vetted for the presidency...unless he runs as a democrat...

Does anyone know where the illegal alien nanny came from? That could be significant -- what if she was a spy -- homeland security anybody?

People who participate in the whispering campaign against Guliani to keep him from the presidency...

Are really helping to keep him from Hillary's Senate seat.

Too many of these guys get to a level of fame and fortune and seem to want to join the "screw anything that walks even though I'm married (and have kids) club".

FYI, I knew a guy on Jesse Jackson's SS detail and he said out of all the hound dogs that have run for president in the near past none (even Clinton) could hold a candle to Jackson.

If a man can't respect his marriage vows he's likely not apt to respect the taxpayers money.

Unfortunately, we have way too many people that are professional politicians. It's just a job to them and they are out to take whatever they can get their hands on. financially and otherwise.

Guilani was a womanizer too, and birds of a feather just flock together.

the nanny is no longer employed.

the hypocrisy on this issue is amazing. Bill Bennett on H&C just before was talking down Kerik also. Would Bennett been confirmed for the cabinet if people knew he was a compulsive gambler?

Rudy is well-positioned for the GOP nomination, though the general election is more questionable. The Kerik mess is a minor blip for him.
