I never thought I would write the following words, but: God bless Hillary Clinton. Though her motives are cynical, their effects may well be vital both to our national security and to our sovereign responsibility to control our borders. Republican presidents and congressional leaders have for years effortlessly and painlessly given short shrift to conservative Republican congressmen calling to secure our borders and end massive illegal immigration. But they ignore Hillary at their mortal peril. Immigration and border legislation in 2005 is likely to be the last chance the Republicans have to put their stamp on those issues. Their failure to do so would: 1) give Hillary three years to champion such Buchananite reform; 2) visibly split the Republican Party on the issue; 3) thereby undercut the Republican unity President Bush will need to pass his Social Security and Tax reforms, and 4) set up Hillary to patch together an unlikely, but formidable, electoral coalition of disenchanted border-security Republicans and main street Democrats for the 2008 campaign. As Hillary knows better than most, politics makes strange bedfellows.

Democrats should take up the illegal immigration cause. It hurts one of their biggest constituents: labor, blue collar workers. Those jobs that supposeddly "no American will do" is complete nonsense. Of course we will do them....just not for $4/hour. I don;t care which side of the aisle takes on this monster....I wish they both would...for the good of the nation.

Let them. On the latest Gallop Poll posted here a few days ago, on the issues most important, illegal immigration only got a 1% response (open poll, not multiple choice).
The fact is that most of us benefit more from immigrant labor than are hurt by it. We see brown skinned men building our highways, repairing our autos, replacing our roofs, mowing our lawns, washing our cars, serving our dinners, collecting our trash, fighting terrorists in Iraq, and doing all the necessary jobs that we don't want our children to have to do.
And of those who want reform, many will agree with President Bush's reforms.

The best thing that can happen is the amnesty bill fails and the secure-our-borders bill passes. If you think illegals are expensive now, wait until we legalize them!

The Democrats would win either way. If McCain is the GOP's nominee, you can look forward to giving loyalty oaths to the Fuhrer...or Hitlary, if she wins. F both of them. If he's the nominee and she's the nominee, it will be the first time I vote for a third party for the Presidency.
Not true. They all believe that government should enforce immigration laws. Just not in their districts--which is how congressmen feel about all the laws they pass.

Don't be sorry. It is aways good to vent those feelings. The shrill is just an example of what happens when slugs and maggots take on human form. I remember watching a news clip of them havingthe military attache's serve the klintoon's maligniant guests at a demo-commie function.
