God bless Hillary Clinton (As she moves to the "right" against illegal immigration)
The Washington Times ^ | 12/15/2004 | Tony Blankley

Posted on 12/15/2004 3:50:59 AM PST by jocon307

What I suspect may be a gathering storm on President Bush's horizon in 2005 is a confluence of factors that will force on Washington a fundamental immigration reform -- one that will seek to genuinely secure our borders. This is something that up until now neither the Republican Party nor the Democratic Party has wanted...

Adding piquancy to this legislative challenge for President Bush and the Republican-controlled Congress is the entrance from stage right of Hillary R. Clinton, 2008 Democratic Presidential Nominee, presumptive.

In the last few weeks the ever cold-blooded Miss Hillary has started to stake out a position to the right of the Republican Party. Just listen to her Pat Buchananesque defiance: "[I do] not think that we have protected our borders or our ports ... we can do more and we can do batter?I am, you know, adamantly against illegal immigrants... Clearly we have to make some tough decisions as a country, and one of them ought to be coming up with a much better entry-and-exit system so that if we are going to let people in for... work...lets have system that keeps track of them... People have to stop employing illegal immigrants."

These are hardly idle pensees coming from The Iron Maiden of Chappaqua. Rather, it is a part, and a big part, of her calculated strategy to shed her liberal image and seize the White House from the Republicans in 2008 by attacking them on the most vulnerable part of their right flank: open borders, illegal immigration and lax anti-terrorist security.

I never thought I would write the following words, but: God bless Hillary Clinton. Though her motives are cynical, their effects may well be vital both to our national security and to our sovereign responsibility to control our borders.

Perhaps both the dems and the reps could come together on this issue for the good of the country.

Stop the hemmoraging of money lost because of these law-breakers and their unAmerican employers.

What is so UnAmerican about an employer trying to finda hard working employee.

An honest question, do you think that modern American parents wnat their children to go into a career as a toilet cleaner or dishwasher, or are you going to be akin to an old communist commissar and mandate that they do.

He is a slave to latino's, fox and mexico. Can you tell me how we all are wrong??

Just because he doesn't want to build your dream of a new 2,000 mile Berlin wall doesn't make him a slave to Fox.

Bush has said many times that the only way this problem is going to be solved is if the Mexicans can get their economy opened up to reform. Is that going to be easy, no, and you all make it a lot harder with your stridency and naivety in believing a new Berlin wall will make Mexico go away.

Also let's see if hillary endorses Sensennbrenner's bill out of the House.

Ok, for the record to you a vegetable picker and the farmer who hires him is the moral equivalence to a heroin dealer to you.

And you are twisting words because why again?

Look I understand where you are coming from, You are defending illegals and their employers as do a lot of people on the left.

Well sorry but I and a lot others disagree, but do not twist my words or attempt to inflame here.

Uh you are the one doing the twsting of the words, with your contention that a vegetable picker and the farmer who hires him is just as much a criminal as a heroin dealer.

ummm Me thinks dost protest too much?

So let me see if I understand, if someone comes to this country and breaks the law by so doing and commits other crimes while in this country (as did the people on 9/11) and they rape, steal etc, while they are here, and BTW recently they found that some of these lawbreakers actually did smuggle in illegal drugs, and they are a drain on the economy of the USA, and possible terroists, and the ONLY ones benefitting from these people coming here are their employers than you are an advocate for them and their employers??

Uh the 9/11 scum entered the country legally, and anybody who comitts a violent crime should be deported, nice try at deflection.

My beef with you guys is your hatred of good legitmate business owners trying to find good and hard working workers so that they can pursue the American dream of being a business owner and prospering.

Your side and hillary have something in common in that you both are control freaks. You hate good business owners because they don't employ the right kind of people and hillary hates business owners because they aren't under her yoke and how dare someone try to prosper without her elitist "wisdom".

Somehow I do not believe I will vote for someone who supports stronger borders, as I do, but opposes guns, God in public, and the military, but supports national health care and gay marriage.

For the record, if you proposed this argument in a high school debate, the debate team would hire the chess club to kick your butt after school.

The left? Some here on FR have already said they'd vote for her because of this alleged new stance.

That's the danger of single-issue voters of *any* stripe. There's a series danger (hugh, even) of shooting themselves in the foot.

Hilary has hit on the one thing that could put her in the White House. She shot her wad on the Health Insurance and struck out, but this one could do it. Americans have just about had a bellyfull of illegal immigration and Mr. Bush refuses to see it.Hillary will get behind whatever issue it takes to get herself elected. I wouldnt trust her as far as as I could throw her , but no one can say she is stupid.

Pubbies better buy and clue and stop all the amnesty, etc., for illegals, or GWB is going to hand the WH to the Democrats (specifically, Hillary) in '08.

The illegals issue is a winnable issue, and Hillary is staking a position that 80% of Americans want to see. [She ain't stupid.] If GWB does sign any amnesty bill, he will probably sink the Pubbies for '08.

but no one can say she(hillary) is stupid.

Yeah really alledgy not knowing her husband was having an affair in the Oval Office with an intern and alledgy not knowing about Jennifer Flowers, qualifies her as the smartest woman in the world.

First it isn't amnesty, it's a guest worker program that brings some order to a broken system. Remember the immigration problem didn't start until the dismantling of the bracero(guest worker program) in the mid 60's.

BTW, what has hillary proposed?
