Albanian terrorists take Greek bus hostages
My Sat news is reporting 2 Albanians took an unknown number of hostages on the bus. Bus driver escaped.
A wave of such terror attacks hit Greece in the 90s.

OT: But close to where I am right now (Stockholm, Sweden - couple of hundred yards...) the police are closing down a significant area including the nearest subway station due to a hostage / bomb situation. Seems to be trendy this time of year...
Good to see others are also following this. For a while there it felt as though MarMema and I had "hijacked" (bad choice of wording maybe) the thread. What is the time where you are by the way?
So maybe we have one chechen claiming to be Russian and the others are just garden-variety islamic terrorists. Or the one who speaks Greek, well who knows? Could be he was the mole already in place and is Albanian or something.
Heh.. That's one way to put it.. They're a bit out of practice, but Greeks are indeed pretty ruthless when dealing with terrorists, rebels, and other assorted malcontents.

Greek Tv was able to talk to one of the hostages.
She reported, from inside the bus, that the ONLY thing they hijackers want is the police bus to move out of the way, a driver to take them to the airport, and a plane ride to russia and then they will relase the hostages. no money or anything else.
The woman hostage said they had a bag full of dynamite which she had seen. Her voice was shaking.
BTW the hostages were text messaging to family during this ordeal. text messaging very big over there.

How will they get from the bus to the plane to Russia without first releasing the hostages???
