TODAY'S HIGHLIGHT: GWB awarded the nation's highest civilian honor -- the Presidential Medal of Freedom -- Ambassador L. Paul "Jerry" Bremer, former CIA Director George Tenet, and retired U.S. Army General Tommy Franks.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: General Tommy Franks was raised in Midland, Texas -- nothing wrong with that. (Laughter.) I didn't know him then, but Laura and he went to the same high school. In those days, some people in Midland wondered about Tommy's future. It sounds familiar. (Laughter.) At a recent high school reunion, Tommy's old principal told the General, "You weren't the brightest bulb in the socket," to which the General replied, "Ain't this a great country?" (Laughter.) -- President George W. Bush, Presidential Medal of Freedom Ceremony, 12/14/04
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island.
Oh, don't you get ol' phancypant going!
It's too hard to behave!
I'll need to be physically restrained in January.
Congrats on your new job! :-)
I'm just a cashier. BTW, Winn-Dixie is a grocery store, for anyone who doesn't know. It also happens to be about two minutes away from my house. And I start at $6.80. And I've been a cashier at a grocery store before and at other places so I'm pretty comfortable with it.
It was taken through the limo window. Those windows are several inches thick, so I'm sure the image is distorted.
He has and I know He will continue to.
PS: The Secret Service calls that limo "the Beast." I call it "the tank."
Nah, I can see the Reagan Library from here, though. Have to drive, oh, 15 minutes to see the ocean. Mountains I can see any time. How about you, wolfstar? Up for a clambake?
Glad to see you still have your sense of humour and appreciation of your President intact LOL
Pippin where are you we need help with the youngsters LOL
Dry is good, but the wind chill makes cold weather far worse.
WWWAAYYY too pea-soup green for me! But it's on a pretty handsome man, so that makes up for the color. :-)
I think Dubya's lucky I won't be there in January. The Secret Service would have a lot of trouble trying to keep me away.
Our dogs bark at the least little thing anyway, so the wind just gave them added incentive.
You're right, we need to be reigned in!
I'm behaving for now...
Anytime. Speaking of surf, which you were a moment ago, did you hear of the huge waves that were supposed to hit Hawaii today. Even the surfers said the waves would be too big to surf.
Thats what I was thinking . . . . I like the fluffy hair, but he looks great with it cut, too!
Thanks! :) I'm very happy to have something to do and I'm very happy that my mom will have to stop threatening to kick me out of the house...at least for that, anyway.
I latched on to his arm back in 2000 and he literally had to shake me off.
HOW embarrassing!
(He sure does lift weights!)
Lived in Waimanalo for a while, and I've seen 20 footers. No way I was trying it.
** BTW, Winn-Dixie is a grocery store,**
What exactly is the American definition of a grocery store in Britain it is an old fashion local smallest shop often run and owned by a family or a speciality shop selling very expensive products.
