TODAY'S HIGHLIGHT: GWB awarded the nation's highest civilian honor -- the Presidential Medal of Freedom -- Ambassador L. Paul "Jerry" Bremer, former CIA Director George Tenet, and retired U.S. Army General Tommy Franks.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: General Tommy Franks was raised in Midland, Texas -- nothing wrong with that. (Laughter.) I didn't know him then, but Laura and he went to the same high school. In those days, some people in Midland wondered about Tommy's future. It sounds familiar. (Laughter.) At a recent high school reunion, Tommy's old principal told the General, "You weren't the brightest bulb in the socket," to which the General replied, "Ain't this a great country?" (Laughter.) -- President George W. Bush, Presidential Medal of Freedom Ceremony, 12/14/04
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island.
AAAAHHHHHH!!! When's the magazine coming out? I'll have to go get it as soon as it hits the stands. Woohoo for Dubya pictures!
The President seems to favor solid-colored ties. That being the case, it sort of limits his choices. I didn't like this green tie. A little too pea-soup green for my tastes.
***broadcast Dem therapy sessions.***
Well, those are good for a laugh!
I looked today and it isn't out yet!
I've been watching for it since Friday...
There's something different about Laura's hair...it's softer and more wavy I think. They make such a great looking couple.
It was in the 70's here last week and this week we're in the 20's at night and 40's in the daytime. Brrrr
I'm not sure when it comes out. I've already started scouring the newstands at all of my local stores. I hope that as soon as one of us finds a copy they will give a heads up so the rest of us can start looking.
I think the Pres. got a haircut, don't you?
Yep, just filling in for today. My plan is to focus on the weekends. Too difficult for me during the week. I work, so I wouldn't be able to post most days until around 5:00pm Pacific time -- kinda late for everyone in the rest of the country, and yet early enough for me to interfere with getting home from work, getting supper, and so on.
I'll keep an eye out for it while I'm working...I start at Winn-Dixie on Thursday. Yay for money!
Yeah buddy. It dropped to the low 80's today. Woo hoo.
I'd bet that the actual citations are written by one or more aides, but that the President sees them in advance. After all he has to sign them. (Those young officers who assisted in the ceremoney were really sharp-looking.)
OMG! The wind here over the weekend was absolutely hideous! Gusts that made me think they'd blow a window or something. Scared the dog too. heh
So sorry to hear that..
***High was around 78 today and will be "colder" tomorrow at 75. [chuckle]***
Sticking my tongue out at you, enjoying my vision of "perfect" weather . . . if you say you live near the mountains and/or can see the ocean from where you're sitting I'm going to do more than stick my tongue out at you!
(just kidding . . .mostly--HAHA!)
Lucozade I think it is spelt yes they do, it is a glucose based drink normally drunk when you do not feel that well.
Recently though they have bought out a different one called a sports drink which is one of those energy type drinks you have after exercise.
Details of the new sports version at
http://www.ontherun.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_Online_Catalogue_Lucozade_249.html
I have also found the official website which is specifies the whole range details of the original drink is at

Yep, it looks like it. Maybe Laura made him get one for the Christmas season?
Well you have the perfect way to watch for it!
I feel like a total freak when I go to the grocery store, cruise the magazine aisle, and leave without buying anything.
W looked great today and I can't wait for the Inauguration!
Yeah for the job! I know you've been looking for some time.
You mean compared to the two dozen Kerry supporters that showed up, LOL! It was interesting to compare the photographic techniques used by the press in featuring the President vs. Kerry. The Pres often spoke in the round which forced a glimpse of the crowd size. Kerry and his background was often posed in a corner or up against a wall to minimize the effect of the lack of crowd attendance.
Prairie
Thank you for that!
How the heck are you? I decided I needed an evening off and wanted to check in.
