FOX News ^

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The state American Civil Liberties Union (search) plans to file a federal lawsuit Tuesday against a Pennsylvania school district that is requiring students to learn about alternatives to the theory of evolution (search).

The ACLU said its lawsuit will be the first to challenge whether public schools should teach "intelligent design," which holds that the universe is so complex that it must have been created by some higher power....

Would you argue that you cannot observe, in a reasonable time, erosion occur through hard stone under those circumstances?

Gotcha! Thats it then! If no one was there to observe it, it didnt happen. You cant prove it happened. My story is just as good as yours. (*fingers in ears*) La-La-La!

Did I really say I agree with his quote?

My mistake, you did not. I will get back to this after work.

See the following articles: Mix and Match in the Tree of Life Here's a gene that was thought to be exclusive to vertebrates, but now is found in a few quite disparate creatures Traditional phylogeny says that compound eyes formed once, but biochemically apparently it had to arise independently multiple times apparently humans and zebra fish share quite a lot of noncoding DNA (how many millions of years separate these guys? And the non-coding regions stay the same? Gosh!) Apparently chickens are pretty close to Turtles A quote from that article: "Given the great deal of support for much of the current pattern of vertebrate relationships, it is surprising how poorly molecular methods have fared in reconstructing the broad outline of vertebrate evolution. This is particularly worrying in the case of mitochondrial genome sequences, which are relatively large markers that have been thought of as ideal for phylogenetic work and are certainly very commonly used." Bee social behaviors are completely independent of phylogenic trees (a little offtopic, but interesting) Just for fun, more biochemical evidence for irreducible complexity Anyway, these should get you started.

Have you ever seen a monkey? Look in the mirror, you'll see a monkey.

Abortion could be considered human sacrifice, and that started after people decided church was no longer relevant. If anything, having less faith brings us to the Dark Ages, not the other way around.

I agree completely! How do we the people fight this organization? A class action suit? Do we have to fight them at the state level? Can we do it Federally? As of today, it seems that the ACLU is acting outside it's own charter by trying to bring suit against the Fed Gov on behalf of foreginers - Prisoners at Guantanimo. They are supposed to act for those in the USA. Oops.
Seriously, how can we eliminate this evil Organization!?

Geez, I sure hope your not an attorney, at law, as ability to research is tantamount to the profession (I know this personally). Here are some links easily found on google.

That response proved without a doubt my position. You have to make unrelated comparisons to justify yourself and continue to condemn and demean to make your self feel better. Thanks for being so transparent. I'd rather rely on a 3000 year old text, yet to be proven in error, as opposed to believing in things claimed as science today and horsefeathers tomorrow. Good day to you!

No, your wrong again professor. Tree rings are not determinative of one per year (light and dark), ask any tree expert, fluctuations in atmosphere may cause two or three rings in one year because of freeze and thaw. Try again.

Sure, it can date over 5730, but that's only a hopeful guess, not scientific fact.

Did you read the article? Your reasoning is wrong but even with YOUR reasoning, then we can go back at least a billion years with other isotopes, right?

What is your hangup about 5730. There is nothing magical about 5730. That just means after 570 years, one-half of the original isotope remains. After 11460 years, One-fourth remains and we can still measure it.

Actually, I'm glad you asked. There was this thing, a great flood, about 4000 years ago. I believe that the Grand Canyon is a result of this great thing and took much less than 4000, maybe even less than one year to create. How did your stream flow upward to cut through that rock? If you believe that physical properties are a constant, how can you explain a stream moving uphill?
