HARRISBURG, Pa. The state American Civil Liberties Union (search) plans to file a federal lawsuit Tuesday against a Pennsylvania school district that is requiring students to learn about alternatives to the theory of evolution (search).
The ACLU said its lawsuit will be the first to challenge whether public schools should teach "intelligent design," which holds that the universe is so complex that it must have been created by some higher power....

Frankly, I don't care what you have to explain. I don't look at it that way at all. Simply put, evolution and creation are mutually exclusive. Therefore, in my opinion, I believe that creation happened as stated in Genesis. I am confident in my beliefs and strengthened by my faith. So, what you believe is really not relevant. The relevancy is the constant anger and vitriole that comes from some people that protest to be experts in evolution but none of them can even agree as to the age of the Earth. To me, Genesis falsifies evolution.
Who's arguing with whom?
Lost count of the number of Creationists who have virtually told me the purpose of belief on a literal 6-day Young Earth Creation is to keep them from thieving, raping, murdering.
So I suppose it's some use
"Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful."
- Lucius Annaeus Seneca
the vast majority of people, over the vast majority of time, have acted morally
I find it ironic that yall bash creationists for saying "well it just is" and then resorting to the same "well it just is" argument when I come along. Very ironic. You will be happy to know I stay away from the evolution threads as most degenerate into name calling fairly quickly, this was my first venture into such a thread and will be my last for a while. I think I made my point.
On evolution, I am not convinced, it appears some mechanism caused life to under go great change on planet earth. However I do not think survival of the fittest is that mechanism. Alien tera forming makes more sense, since the big changes appear to happen quickly. And I am unaware of any proof of evolution.
To teach an unproven theory as (forgive me) the Gospel is really arrogant in the extreme.
And I'll give you the last word.
Like I said repeatedly, I don't need to or visit cartoon websites. Saying such a generalized and condescending comment as you did, bespeaks the intelligence of the writer. Again, as I repeated many times, I don't care whether or not you believe my posts to be true. I believe they are true and frankly that's all that matters. You and your buddies can keep throwing all of your illogical intolerance at me all you want, I'm sincere and content in my beliefs. God I hate being defensive like you TOE's, but I don't waste time with any cartoon website and really am quite offended by that comment. That hit me out of the blue as it was something I have not yet been accused of. Guess my time has come, better dis the degrees.
I've ignored no science; I've wisened up!
LOL - you really are misinformed about the Creationist theory. I believe that dinosaurs existed. LOL!!
You object to me saying Muslims who want Sahira law are ignorant, unintellectual and misinformed?
thanks enjoyed the conversation, but the name callers are here so while I await sci fi channel earthsea I think I will return fire. And I really did enjoy the conservation.
Your right, you were born that way. God imprinted His laws on the heart of every person. Big difference between being a nice guy, and having Christian moral values. How would you explain to your child that the action they are getting kicked in the a@@ for is wrong?
Come on professor, you can do better than that. How could 68% of the current population believe in a theory that was discarded over 100 years ago? Are you certain it was "discarded" or wanting to believe it was discarded?
So, in your great mind, religion and mathematic capability are comparable?
You brought up Wistar. It has the usual disease of creationist arguments--bad models based upon ignorance of biology. When you take away the laughable assumptions, the flaws of which are pointed out in the link I gave you, there's nothing left in Wistar for creationists to crow about. The bad pennies of creationism keep turning up after 40 years.
Well, then yall should be fighting the ACLU and opposing removing God from our schools. And by the way I am not a creationist in the sense you are using the term. I am not defending the creationism, I am objecting to the ACLU attack on Christans and Christan values. I object to human secularism becomming the state religion, which is apparently the goal of the ACLU.
And how far back in time can your instruments detect?
I was mimicking someone, you'd have to go back the post I was responding to in such flowery language.
