Considering how many mentally 'off' liberal professors I've had to sit through over the years, it's not a bad idea to weed out campus faculties. If I'm putting down my hard earned money learn about Subject A, I want to learn about Subject A - not about how Republicans are the scourge of humanity from some Birkenstock-wearing hairball.

In other words, conservatives are a bunch of crass, money-grubbers. Liberals are willing to sacrifice personal gain to spread knowledge. (Certainly not because they’re too incompetent to hold a position in the corporate world and like the tolerance of academic incompetence, and the security that comes with tenure.)

Goodman admits that faculties are politically homogenous: .... But, so what, says Goodman – who, based at The Boston Globe, writes from the heart of darkest Kerry country. After all, faculties are still 87 percent white and 77 percent male. Good liberal that she is, Goodman thinks everything comes down to race and gender, rather than ideas.

Okay, well, we can play that diversity game too. How about we get a bunch of black conservatives and women conservatives into the university faculties? Then what will they find to complain about?
