Maureen Dowd Has Outdone Herself ("Puerile Trash... Has She No Friends?")
DavidLimbaugh.com ^ | 12/12/04 | David Limbaugh

Posted on 12/13/2004 1:39:03 PM PST by KentTrappedInLiberalSeattle

No amount of outside criticism could damage Maureen Dowd like this childish piece of profound embarrassment.

There is just nothing I can add to this, other than my expression of amazement. No matter the level of puerile trash I've seen from her before, this one descends to new depths. Has she no friends at the Times who could have charitably rejected this piece?

Gawd, it doesn't even remotely remind you of the song. It has no real point other than spewing vitriol. It's like some high school goth kid trying to rebel wrote the article.

I would be embarrassed as hell to be Pinch with this crap under my name. Even liberals should have SOME standards.

A third grader could come up with something better than that tripe.

The NYT could probably find more sophistacated lampoons of Bush at just about any college newspaper.

Wow. That was utterly pathetic. Would not even be accepted for publication in most high school newspapers.

Juvenile, sophomoric, moronic all seem to be the theme.

If I were her editor, I wouldn't pay her for that column - (1) it's poorly written, (2) it's derivative, (3) it's not funny and (4) it makes leftists look as stupid and tone-deaf as they really are.

Her work ethic has certainly gone straight to hell.

In the past she used to read other columnists, recycle it as her own (almost never giving credit), and then sprout off downright lame lefty humor.

At least though, she made an effort to try and have some kind of substance, even if it was plagiarism/paraphrasing.

She seems to have stopped even doing that now. Its just a few lame attempts at humor that I think even Al Franken or Paul Krugman could see have absolutely nothing but emotional venting behind them. At least Krugman has to manipulate numbers and work to create a lie, Dowd doesn't even do that.

Its clear she can not concentrate and has become unhinged and distracted. If the NY Times had any sense of respect for her, they would recommend therapy.

Thanks. You know, that's really poor.

I think Maureen is starting to implode.

That was truly nasty...my five year old is wittier than she is. That, and he already has more common sense.

Pathetic.

Curiously, writing for the New York Times *IS* considered therapy.

One who works there, is working with the criminally insane.

I don't subscribe to anything that is interested in my income and the type of work I do.

What -- you're not a 97-yo, poverty-level, female, Bolivian hat-maker, as I am? Take it from an old hand -- registration can be fun!

I think Maureen is starting to implode.

For all her faults, Helen Thomas made it longer.
